With the mornings and evenings turning noticeably cooler, it really feels like autumn is settling in.🍂 When the seasons change, I clean out my closet, but nothing beats a fresh manicure for shaking off a dull, heavy mood, right? To bring some autumn feeling to my fingertips just as the breeze started to turn crisp, I visited Byuazeu Hongdae Nail, Lashes & Skincare in Hongdae.

Where is Byuazeu Hongdae, and how do you find the entrance?

Byuazeu Hongdae is at 19 Hongik-ro 2-gil, Mapo-gu, Seoul, 1st floor. Walk a bit from Exit 9 of Hongik University Station and a clean sign catches your eye among the alleys of the residential neighborhood.

It's located on what feels like a mezzanine floor, and thanks to the cute white-framed floor-to-ceiling windows, you can feel the bright, warm mood of the shop even from outside.

Climb a small flight of stairs and open the vintage front door with its wooden handle, and a cozy interior unfolds. Right by the entrance there's a pretty curtain and shoe rack where you can change into comfy slippers and enjoy the shop in comfort.

Inside Byuazeu: nail, pedicure and skincare areas kept separate

Once inside Byuazeu Hongdae, the space is surprisingly spacious. What I liked most was how neatly the nail, pedi, and skincare areas were separated.

The beds for skincare and lash treatments in particular are completely sectioned off, so you can relax and get treated privately without worrying about other people's eyes the whole time. There were also plush gold-framed velvet waiting seats off to the side, perfect for sitting comfortably if you arrive a bit early for your appointment.

On top of that, the thoughtful owner had a mini fridge stocked full of various free drinks for guests!

Sipping a cold ade while waiting for a bit was honestly healing.

The wall of gel colors and sample nails at Byuazeu

The moment I sat down, the first thing that caught my eye was the sheer amount of gel nail colors covering the wall from edge to edge!!

As if proving that no two shades are ever quite alike, the colors were lined up perfectly by brightness and saturation, and it was visually so reassuring. Haha. It felt like whatever color or texture I wanted, I'd definitely find it here.🫡

Since I'd booked in advance a few days earlier, I was seated right away with zero wait time. As soon as I sat down, I couldn't help but get drawn into looking at the sample nails — my eyes were spinning, haha.

From lovely styles with ribbons and hearts to glamorous ones piled with sparkly parts, chic black and white, and subtle marble designs — the range of options to match any taste was really wide.👀 Among them, I went for the one I'd already saved on Instagram — a calm, glowy mood that fit the current season perfectly without being too flashy!!

Cuticle care for sensitive nails and the short round square shape

After choosing the design, before the actual gel application, basic care began — removing old cuticles and shaping the nails.

The skin around my nails is thin and sensitive, so I sometimes bleed or feel a sting during care.ㅠ But my technician's touch was so delicate and gentle that there wasn't a single uncomfortable moment as she neatly cleaned up just the cuticles. She also shaped my nails into exactly the short, round square I wanted.

Seeing my bare nails clean of old dead skin already felt so satisfying.!!!

Overall, it's a calm, deep brown-toned magnetic nail with a clean beige accent — doesn't it just scream autumn? Every time I moved my fingers, that signature soft, glowy shimmer rippled through, and I loved it so much.

Even walking out of the shop and down the street, my nails looked so pretty that I kept spreading my hand out against the trees for photos. Ha ha.

It was such a satisfying autumn refresh that it blew away all my heavy feelings! Now that my fingertips are dressed in autumn first, even my steps feel lighter.!!! How about giving your fingertips a nice change this fall too? 💛
