Inside Ssosam 208: the room, the crowd and free corkage
I reserved through Naver in advance, and stepping inside I found a clean, spacious hall without the usual thick smoke or stuffiness you get at BBQ restaurants. The photo was taken around 5pm, before peak hour, but from 6pm onward it was almost fully seated — even so, the place wasn't overly loud, making it a good atmosphere to chat with people you care about.
And here's the killer selling point that's unique to Ssosam 208 Suwon Station Branch!! They offer free corkage!! Ssosam 208 menu and what three people ordered

Since we came as a group of three, we ordered the mixed stone-grill platter (500g, ₩48,500)! Considering a single order of pork belly is 160g for ₩15,000, and everything is grilled for you by staff, the pricing seemed pretty reasonable.
The table setting arrived quickly as soon as we sat down. A spicy rice noodle dish came free, with one free refill! The wild garlic leaf pickle, scallion salad, wasabi, and garlic salt were also delicious dipped with the meat 🤓

Beyond these five sauces, there's also fermented anchovy sauce and cheese fondue served with the meat — seven sauces total to enjoy with your BBQ.

Pork belly 250g + pork neck 150g + thousand-layer pork belly 100g make up the signature mixed set at this Suwon Station pork BBQ favorite.

The volcano stone grill and staff who grill the pork for you
Looking at the grill plate set up at every table, I understood why Ssosam 208 Suwon Station Branch stands out among the countless BBQ restaurants near Suwon Station. This unique volcano-shaped grill plate, raised in the middle like an actual volcano, lets you add molten cheese lava to dip your meat into cheese fondue for a special flavor.

They check the temperature before putting the meat on the grill, quickly searing the surface to lock in the rich juices so they don't escape. It cuts down on greasiness while keeping the clean, savory flavor of the pork intact — this special grill plate is one of Ssosam 208 Suwon Station Branch's signature touches.

This staff-grilled BBQ spot near Suwon Station really has it figured out!! On a hot day like this, just getting to the restaurant is exhausting enough — asking us to grill our own meat over a hot plate too would probably start a fight, right? At Ssosam 208, while the staff grill everything, you can just toast with a cold drink and by the time you're ready, the meat is perfectly cooked and ready to eat 😆 Thank you, staff 🙏🏻
Meljeot anchovy dipping sauce and the lava fondue sauce from the review event
My favorite sauce to eat with pork is fermented anchovy sauce!!! I used to find it too fishy to eat, but recently I've fallen for its charm and now I dunk the meat straight into it, haha.
Don't miss the Naver receipt review event ✍️ — they give you lava fondue sauce as a free perk, so be sure to take part. Cheese with greasy pork?? The salty, creamy, savory cheese blends smoothly with the pork's juices, multiplying the richness several times over. Contrary to what you'd expect — that it'd be too heavy — the clean flavor of the Korean pork and the umami of the cheese mesh together in a surprisingly perfect combo 🍯

This is the chewy thousand-layer pork belly — the thick cut had an insane texture.
And this is the classic pork cut! Pork belly, haha. The medium-thick slices were cooked just right, not greasy at all.
Cheek pork jowl free with the Naver reservation coupon
Naver reservation event 🌟 If you reserve in advance through Naver, you can choose one free item — either beef brisket doenjang stew or cheek pork jowl 100g. Since you can use one coupon per table, if you're coming as a group, make sure everyone downloads and uses their own reservation coupon per table — it's a total win!
We got the cheek pork jowl with our Naver coupon, and since the beef brisket doenjang stew was only ₩3,000, we added that too and it was delicious!! Highly recommend trying both~!

The cheek pork jowl we got with the Naver reservation coupon. It was frozen, and maybe because we'd already had pork belly, thousand-layer pork, and pork neck first, the taste difference was pretty noticeable, haha;;

And then we added one more order each of pork belly and pork neck. In total, the three of us polished off 5 servings,,,^^

We also got two orders of the snow cheese kimchi fried rice~! At ₩6,000 per serving, it's a bit pricier than the typical Korean after-BBQ fried rice, but it was really delicious,,🩵

Full house by 7pm, and the meat origin board by the door
Around 7pm when we were about to leave, the restaurant was nearly full, so I shyly snapped a photo of only the table in front of me, haha. Most of the customers were groups of men — probably because the staff grill everything for you, the prices are reasonable, the meat quality is great since they use Korean pork, and corkage is free!

On the way out while paying, I made sure to snap a photo of the origin label board too. A clean, cool restaurant with friendly staff and delicious meat — this Suwon Station pork BBQ favorite, Ssosam 208 Suwon Station Branch.
