Weekday lunch for two at Gangnam Western restaurant The Mignon Seoul

On a weekday lunch, I wanted to catch up with a friend over good food and take our time chatting, so we went to The Mignon Seoul :) There are so many pretty restaurants near Gangnam Station these days, but that day I was looking for somewhere with a bit of atmosphere and good brunch and Western food, and landed on The Mignon Seoul.

Does a weekday lunch booking at The Mignon Seoul near Gangnam Station mean no wait?

We booked ahead, and thanks to that we could go straight in with no separate wait. It was a weekday lunch so I was a little worried it might be crowded, but I was glad we'd made a reservation haha.

What the interior of The Mignon Seoul looks like

Maybe because it hasn't been open that long, the interior was clean overall and had a really nice atmosphere. The space itself was beautifully decorated, so it was great for taking photos over brunch with a friend, and I thought it would also work well for a date or a casual get-together.

Three dishes two people shared at The Mignon Seoul

We ordered three dishes that day: seafood oil pasta, truffle mushroom gnocchi, and popover pancakes. We ordered a good variety and shared, and to put the conclusion first, all three had their own clear charm, so we were satisfied.

Seafood oil pasta at The Mignon Seoul

I generally like oil pasta, and the seafood oil pasta we had that day was especially good. It came with linguine, which is my favorite kind of noodle, so I liked it from the noodles alone, and it was piled with seafood that tasted like it had been finished over fire — if you like seafood, you'll enjoy this.

The light yet savory flavor typical of oil pasta was joined by the seafood's richness, and my fork kept going back for more. I also tried it with a squeeze of the lemon juice that came alongside, and that was a real treat too. The lemon's tartness brought out the umami and made the whole thing feel a touch fresher! It's delicious plain, but I preferred it with a bit of lemon juice haha.

Truffle mushroom gnocchi: the standout dish

And my clear favorite that day was the truffle mushroom gnocchi! I like truffle aroma, so I was looking forward to it just from the name, and when I actually tried it, the truffle flavor came through quite strongly — it was so good. Above all, the gnocchi was really chewy.

There were thick pieces of bacon mixed in too, so eating the bacon together with the chewy gnocchi added a salty flavor and texture that made it a real treat. My friend and I kept reaching for it even while sharing, and in the end we scraped up every last bit of sauce lol. Personally, if I had to pick just one dish from that day to eat again, I'd choose the truffle mushroom gnocchi without hesitation. If you like truffle, you really should try this one.

The third dish was the popover pancakes. At first I wondered if we could handle pancakes after the pasta and gnocchi, but once it arrived, the look of it alone was so pretty. The pancake was topped with grilled banana, arugula, ricotta cheese, bacon, and tomato, so it felt a bit different from the sweet pancakes we usually think of.

The sweet grilled banana, mild ricotta cheese, salty bacon, and the arugula and tomato all came together nicely, making it perfect as a brunch dish. Of the three dishes, it was the most brunch-like one, so it was great to share over a relaxed lunch with a friend. Best of all, every dish was so nicely plated that it was fun just taking photos haha.

Is The Mignon Seoul worth it for Western food near Gangnam Station?

Overall, the dishes we ordered that day were all different in flavor and style, so ordering several and sharing made the meal even more satisfying. If you like pasta or gnocchi, it works well as a Western food spot near Gangnam Station, and the pretty atmosphere means it'll come to mind for a lunch catch-up with a friend or a date spot too. If you're looking for a nice-atmosphere restaurant near Gangnam Station, I think The Mignon Seoul is worth adding to your list :) Next time I visit, I'll order the truffle mushroom gnocchi again without a second thought. I'd also like to try some other dishes next time :)
