Family photo booth in Busan: 7,000-won newspaper prints at Jeonpo

It'd been a while since I visited Jeonpo-dong! Still packed with young people, still a hot spot. While looking for somewhere fun to bring my kid, I heard there was an unusual photo booth around here, so I went to check it out :) It's Jeonpo's little hangout spot, 'Movie Photo Book.'

Where is Movie Photo Book Jeonpo Times, and how do you get there?

Movie Photo Book is at 52 Seojeon-ro 68beon-gil, Busanjin-gu, Busan, 1st floor, about a 5-minute walk from Exit 8 of Jeonpo Station! It's open 24 hours, so you can drop by anytime.

It's tucked into an alley lined with restaurants and prop shops, so I had fun window-shopping my way there. The storefront has an adorable cat-face awning, and there's a yellow photo booth right at the entrance — total eye-catcher, so it's easy to find :)

Once inside, Movie Photo Book felt so cozy! Photos were plastered everywhere, proof that plenty of people had already passed through :)

A 'newspaper' concept I'd never seen before!! There were tons of photos with all kinds of different headlines.

Props, costumes and paying by card at Jeonpo Times

Being a photo booth, Movie Photo Book Jeonpo Times has a whole range of outfits and props ready to go — headbands, scarves, hairbands, crowns, magic wands, sunglasses, mascot costumes, and more :)

There's a bill changer too, but honestly every machine here takes cards, so you don't really need cash.

There's also a separate space just for making the flip book! I worried it might be complicated at first, but there are detailed instructions and sample books hanging up, so it's easy to figure out :)

The free black-and-white photo printer

Movie Photo Book Jeonpo Times also has a free photo printer!! Anyone can take as many shots as they want, and it's nicely moody in black and white :) My daughter and I snapped a commemorative shot and stuck it on the wall too!

Newspaper photo booth, 7,000 won: the one my child loved most

Alright, time to shoot today's main attractions! First up, the outdoor newspaper photo booth. Price: ₩7,000.

It prints 2 photos total, and printing takes about 3 minutes.

Pay, hit start, and!! Photo time begins haha. You get to retake the shot 2 or 3 times. There's a time limit though, so you have to move fast!! Once you're done shooting, pick whichever headline you like and print — done!! So cute lol. Kids are really going to love this one — my daughter was amazed she was 'in the newspaper.'

Flip book for 8,000 won: three 8-second takes

And now the one I was most excited for: the flip book! 1 book (20 pages) is ₩8,000, 2 books (20 pages) is ₩16,000.

It's in the booth at the very back — make sure you actually read the instructions around you before starting~~ The most important part is: move as much as you can in those 8 seconds >,<

You shoot three separate 8-second clips, and pick your favorite one to turn into the book :)

I fumbled around a lot on the first take, but from the second one onward, my kid and I really got into moving around dynamically :) With three 8-second takes, the time just flew by so fast lol. I think that's the whole charm of this kind of photo booth.

You pick one of the three video clips~~ then pick one of your cover shots :) and choose a design too.

Then it prints — since it's two sets of 20 pages, it does take a fair bit of time. The photos come out in a specific order, so don't touch anything, just wait!!

Stapling the flip book and adding the ring

Now, as instructed, staple it all together!

Punch a hole for the ring, thread it through with the little accessory, and it's done! Went by faster than I expected.

Here's the finished piece!! So cute, right?? ㅠㅠㅠㅠ Haha, since there's a ring, you can even clip it to your bag. My daughter and I made the most adorably precious memory!!
