Anniversary date wine bar in Pangyo with a free cake plate: Andover

This time I visited Andover, a Pangyo brunch spot, for an anniversary. It's near Pangyo Station on the Baekhyeon-dong café street, and it's the place to go when you want proper pasta and cooked dishes. With its sleek, clean interior and cozy lighting plus unique, delicious food, it's perfect as a date course or a gathering spot :)

As soon as we walked in, the tables were spaced out generously, so it was the perfect environment for a private conversation :) And above all, the owner paid such careful attention to us — that was really nice!!

What we ordered was the meatball cream and the fresh basil pesto pasta!! Since it was our first visit, we tried all the signature menu items.

Meatball cream: the dish to order at Andover

You absolutely have to order this menu haha! The golden-grilled handmade meatballs went so well with the thick, rich handmade cream sauce. Plus it came with baguette, which made the meal even more filling :)

The outside of the meatballs was lightly grilled with a savory char, and the inside was full of juices — pressing them slightly with a fork made them split open moistly. There was no gamey smell, and the texture of the ground meat particles was excellent to chew!!

Andover's cream sauce was so good it made me curious about their cream pasta too. I love cream so much I order it almost everywhere I go, but Andover's cream was genuinely amazing, ugh. It's rich and savory without being greasy at all — addictive. I finished the meatballs and kept scraping up just the cream.

How does Andover's fresh basil cold pasta taste?

Having always eaten warm pasta, this cold pasta felt unique. The first bite sent a fresh burst of basil spreading through my whole mouth. And with just the right acidity, plus the softness of cheese that came through more the more you chewed!! There's a reason it's a signature dish.

The anniversary cake plate Andover brought out

Haha, we had an issue where the cake got damaged(?) while carrying it in… anyway..! As soon as the owner saw the cake, they immediately brought out a plate. I haven't seen a place like this before — they paid attention to every little detail, and it made for an even happier anniversary :)

Since it's on the Baekhyeon-dong café street, it's also great for a second round — a pretty café or a bar with good atmosphere — so I highly recommend it as a date course. Especially since they gave us a cake plate, visiting on an anniversary will make it feel even more special!! And since it's free corkage if you bring your own wine glasses, next time I'm planning to bring wine too haha. That's a wrap on a really happy anniversary ❤️
