EMS spa diet program with 40°C bath tub, 20 min: Xpa in Suwon
In short
Xpa is an EMS spa and workout studio on the 4th floor of Mangpo Plaza near Mangpo Station in Yeongtong, Suwon. The writer chose the 20-minute diet program at a 40°C water temperature and just lay in the tub — yet still ended up with beads of sweat on her forehead. It felt like a private sauna, and she'd love to come back in winter.

Today's post is about my visit to Xpa, an EMS diet spa in Yeongtong. This was my first time trying a spa diet program, so I booked it with a bit of excitement and headed over.

4th floor of Mangpo Plaza near Mangpo Station — is there parking?
It's in Mangpo Plaza near Mangpo Station, so it was really easy to get to! I booked in advance, and public transit works fine, but there's also on-site parking if you're driving. I came by car myself, and the parking entrance was a bit narrow.

After parking and heading up to the 4th floor, Xpa is right to the right as soon as you step off the elevator. Just change your shoes at the entrance and you're good to go in.

The interior was clean and tidy in white tones. Xpa is a space where you can do both exercise and spa treatments! I heard some people even come for personal training sessions here. You work out wearing EMS clothing, which apparently makes the exercise more efficient.

How do you choose an EMS spa program?
First I filled out a short questionnaire. Then they explained the EMS spa options — there were quite a few modes, like strength mode and recovery mode. Both the strength program and the diet program had two modes each, and I went with the diet program focused on circulation management for 20 minutes. Who knew there was a dream diet where you just lie in a tub, EMS-spa style, and that's it?! I'm mad I only just found out about this, haha.

The questionnaire just asked whether I had any implanted medical devices. Simple to fill out.

Water temperature is chosen in advance when booking — there was 40°C or 41°C. Since I can't stay in hot water for long, I went with 40°C. I'd also worked out earlier that day, so recovery mode seemed like a good idea. The staff were so kind, which made the whole experience even better.

The workout area and changing room
This is the workout area I mentioned earlier — it's completely sectioned off from the spa area, so there was zero awkwardness while doing the spa treatment, haha. There were gym balls, various machines, and even a stair climber. I work out regularly myself, and combining EMS training with a spa session honestly sounds like the easiest diet plan ever.

The changing area for people working out was also neat and organized. There was EMS clothing hanging in one corner. Seems like a place that would actually make you want to work out, haha.

The private EMS spa room — what should you bring?
And here it is, the main event: the EMS spa room. It really feels like a private sauna. They had it set to 40°C as I'd requested. Right next to it is a shower booth, fully stocked with body wash, shampoo, and treatment, so there's nothing extra you need to bring.

I love half-body baths normally, but I don't have a tub at home, so this was such a treat. They'd even added bath salts, so it smelled lovely.

Here you change into the provided clothing, put on the waist band, and go in! They help with everything, and this is also where they adjust the intensity for you. If it feels stingy or uncomfortable, they lower it right away, so you can find the intensity that works for you.

You take off all your clothes, and they give you underwear to wear on top as well. Just put it on and that's it, haha. No need to bring any clothes of your own — just show up.

What did the 20 minutes feel like?
You basically just lie in the spa, sip water, and scroll your phone, and 20 minutes flies by. Whenever they come in to switch modes, they naturally adjust the intensity too. When it's done, they drain the water, you hang up the clothes, shower, and you're finished! I thought 40°C wouldn't feel that hot, but surprisingly, beads of sweat formed on my forehead.

They provided water, a call bell for if anything feels uncomfortable, and even a sweat towel, haha. They told me to press the bell if the intensity ever felt too much, and locked the door on their way out.

Would I go back? Yes
It felt like a trip to a private sauna for pure relaxation — and if it's also doing something for a diet, isn't that just a win-win, haha? I'd definitely visit Xpa again. I think it would be even better in winter — highly recommend. They're running a promotion too, so I'm leaving that info here for reference! 😃😃
