Guro dakgalbi restaurant with DIY tteokbokki bar: Bak Jeongmi
In short
Bak Jeongmi Dakgalbi is an all-you-can-eat dakgalbi (spicy stir-fried chicken) and grilled meat restaurant on the 3rd floor of Huijeon Building, at the entrance of the food alley by Guro Digital Complex Station in Seoul. On a weekend evening visit made on a friend's recommendation, the writer grilled salt dakgalbi, chicken neck meat, and soy sauce and seasoned dakgalbi, made tteokbokki (rice cakes in spicy sauce) at the self-serve bar, and found the fried chicken as good as Bodeuram Chicken. At 20,500 won per person, or 30,000 won with unlimited drinks, Bak Jeongmi Dakgalbi earns five stars as a value pick for group dinners in Guro.

Was trying to decide what to eat on a Saturday evening when I remembered a place my friend recommended, so off we went haha. And it turned out to be a genuinely amazing find...🤍
Where is Bak Jeongmi Dakgalbi, and where can you park?
Bak Jeongmi Dakgalbi is right at the entrance of the restaurant alley in front of Guro Digital Complex Station, on the 3rd floor of Huijeon Building at 29 Digital-ro 32na-gil, Guro-gu, Seoul, South Korea. It's open from 11:30 AM to 1 AM.
This used to be Sagyejinmi Dakgalbi, but it's changed hands?! 🚘 Parking is only available until 5 PM, so after that you have to park nearby. Since it was the weekend, we parked on the roadside street. There's a spot near what I think is Kolon Science Valley 2? where cars park!! Handy tip

It's on the 3rd floor of the building with Yeokjeon Grandma Beer and Buheong Mountain Lodge downstairs

A wide hall and open folding doors for group dinners
Once inside Bak Jeongmi Dakgalbi, the interior turned out to be huuuge. Seems perfect for company dinners or group gatherings!

Maybe because the weather's gotten a lot cooler lately, they had the folding doors wide open. Gives it that outdoor-tent vibe, and it was so nice ✨

What we ordered at Bak Jeongmi Dakgalbi
- All-you-can-eat
- Unlimited drinks

Once you sit down, they quickly bring out the grill first. Everything else is self-serve!!

The self-serve bar: make your own tteokbokki and more
Seriously a self-serve bar that has everything

You can grab a burner and make your own instant tteokbokki (stir-fried rice cakes) too!! Rice cakes, vegetables, broth, sauce, fish cakes, and instant noodles included
On the other side there's a meat corner with salt, seasoned, and soy sauce dakgalbi, plus pork belly and pork ribs — such a wide variety

The meat looked super fresh and delicious just at a glance 🤤 And apparently all the chicken is domestic! Wow
There's even a diagram showing the order to grill the dakgalbi. No sauce first, then sauce — you all know this right??
Fried chicken and chicken soup are included too
On top of that there's even fried chicken... puff puff 🤤🍗 Wasn't expecting much from the chicken but I was genuinely surprised how good it was. Tastes exactly like Bodeuram Chicken!!!!! So good. There's also chicken soup with a generous amount of meat in it

There were also so many side dishes and sauces to pair with everything

There's even instructions for making fried rice. Regret of my life that I was too full to try it...🥹

Plus drinks and draft beer 🍻 I had some cold draft beer too, hahaha. So smooth and delicious ㅠㅠ Even better since I'd just worked out

How the salt dakgalbi and chicken neck meat taste
We started with salt dakgalbi and chicken neck meat. At dakgalbi places chicken neck is usually pricier as a specialty cut, but here it's all-you-can-eat so you can enjoy it without worry

The color is insane ....... ✨ Dipped in salt or spicy sauce, it was so good

It's all chicken thigh meat so it's tender with zero gamey smell, just clean flavor!! The chicken neck had a nice slightly chewy texture that was really appealing
Also tried a bit of the tteokbokki, and it was seriously on the level of a dedicated tteokbokki restaurant....... Especially the rice cakes, which were soft and chewy and delicious!!!!!

Soy sauce dakgalbi vs. seasoned dakgalbi
The soy sauce dakgalbi felt like chicken seasoned with galbi (short rib) marinade?? Sweet and savory, total rice thief

The seasoned dakgalbi needs no explanation. Perfectly spicy and savory, also went great with rice!!! Had the pork ribs and pork belly too, and everything was delicious..🤤 Genuinely ate until I was about to burst, hahaha
How much is it? 20,500 won per person, 30,000 won with unlimited drinks
For ₩20,500 per person with all this, isn't that incredible value?! And with unlimited drinks included it's still only ₩30,000, so unbelievably affordable. The whole time I was eating I kept thinking, this quality for this price??? Hahaha
Honestly beats Myeongryun Jinsa Galbi..🤍 If you're looking for a group dinner or budget-friendly spot in Guro, totally recommend this place!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
