True to an Igok-dong restaurant known for all-you-can-eat meat, the self-bar was on a massive scale — starting with the basic meat cuts, then wraps, side dishes, sauces, seaweed soup, tteokbokki, fried chicken, and even rice, all unlimited. Extremely satisfying ❣️

Since Gankeun Galbi Seongseo Branch has four different types of meat, there were sauces prepared to match each one. They even had a special makchang dipping sauce to go with the makchang — the scale of it all ‼️

Since this is a place families with kids come to often, there was tteokbokki and fried chicken too — and the seasoned fried chicken was so good I couldn't tell whether this was a fried chicken restaurant or a meat restaurant 😍

Isn't the owner just too generous 💓 For anyone ordering the all-you-can-eat set, there's a Hangang Ramyeon machine where you can cook up jjapaghetti or Jin Ramyeon. As a jjapaghetti lover, this got me so excited ❣️

And in front of the kids' playroom there's even ice cream...😍 Bless the generous owner ‼️

Grilling domestic pork belly and chilled makchang at the table

Once we'd brought over our meat, banchan, and ssam from the self-bar, it was time to get grilling on the pan 🔥

We took galbi, pork belly, and makchang, and decided to start with the unseasoned pork belly and makchang first 😍

The pork belly had that gorgeous, vivid red color, and the makchang was chilled, not frozen...💕 Add bracken and mushrooms to the pan and... this visual is just love.

Wrap it in lettuce with well-cooked bracken and scallions on top, and pure happiness floods your mouth ✨️

And then the makchang I'd been craving lately got grilled up golden brown and dipped into the makchang sauce — makchang dipped in makchang sauce is just the taste, isn't it ‼️

After clearing a whole round of unseasoned pork belly and makchang, we switched the pan over to the galbi and grilled up the seasoned galbi and seasoned pork skin together 🔥

The pork ribs were so tender and tasty too — this one especially seems like a menu the kids would love 💕
