I was surprised the moment I walked in. What Chinese restaurant looks this pretty? It feels more like Chinese fine dining than a typical Chinese restaurant. Totally works as a gathering spot or for a special day.♡

Toward the back there's group seating with tables pushed together. Actually, right as I was finishing my meal and heading out, a group came in for that exact table haha

What's on the Gang's Duck menu, and how much does it cost?

Gang's Duck's main menu item is Peking duck. Beyond that, there are plenty of other Chinese dishes. There's a wide variety of cooked dishes and meal items too, so I was curious about every single item the whole time I looked at the menu. Who knew reading a menu could be this fun ☺️ And most of all, I was shocked by the prices. They're really good.

There's a restroom inside the restaurant and it was clean too.

They even had mouthwash ready — nice touch 🦷👅

The starter table setting

Gang's Duck's basic table setting comes with pickled radish, cucumber, scallion, yajang sauce, and sugar.

The pickled radish had a subtle lemon and yuzu-herb aroma and tasted genuinely upscale. First time I've ever seen pickled radish taste this fancy haha

Tasting Hong Kong-style egg noodles and half a Peking duck

The Hong Kong-style egg noodles came out first, and they were so good my mood instantly lifted 💛 Basically the best noodles I've ever eaten. 🥰 There was a slight wok-hei smoky flavor, the shrimp were super fresh and tender, and the vegetables were fresh too. Sweet-salty + smoky + savory — I can't even describe what flavor this is. Just go eat it yourself, please. lol

Then came the Peking duck.♡ I was so excited. I took a small bite of the meat first and it was satisfyingly tender.

I dipped the skin in sugar first and ate it on its own. It was savory yet slightly sweet, with a crispy texture.

Following the instructions on that cute duck card, I laid out a pancake on the combo plate, put the duck and skin on it, topped it with cucumber and scallion, and dipped it in yajang sauce. Like wrapping bossam (boiled pork) in a rice cake wrap, that chewy quality was maximized, and the sauce, scallion, cucumber, and meat all came together really well.💛🧡💚

Personally, I also really liked just putting cucumber and scallion straight on the meat without wrapping it in a pancake, then dipping it in yajang sauce.♡

They gave us the leftover leg meat, seasoned and deep-fried, and it was crispy and top-notch♡ The outside had a bit of a cumin-like seasoning, and the texture was genuinely amazing. 😊 Crispier than old-school fried chicken with a bolder flavor ♡ I badly wanted a beer.
