Anyang grill house with a meat-grilling guide at the table: Sannae
In short
Sannae Sutbul Galbi Bakdal Branch is a charcoal-grilled marinated pork galbi restaurant in Bakdal-dong, Anyang, Gyeonggi. Two friends, one of them hopeless at grilling, followed the "how to grill meat deliciously" signboard on the table through 3 servings of galbi, added mushrooms, and finished with doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) and heaped rice for 50,000 won total. If you want pork galbi that has really soaked up its marinade, Sannae Sutbul Galbi is worth the trip.

I heard there's a grill house that can save even someone who can't grill meat (let's call him 'meat-fail'), so I dragged my meat-fail friend along to Sannae Sutbul Galbi Bakdal Branch in Bakdal-dong.
Where Sannae Sutbul Galbi Bakdal Branch is and when it opens
Sannae Sutbul Galbi Bakdal Branch is at 44 Bakdalubuiro138beon-gil, Manan-gu, Anyang-si, Gyeonggi-do. There's a big Daiso nearby — go slightly into the alley behind it and you'll find it!

What I'd looked up beforehand: staff are friendly, it's a new place that opened this March according to Instagram, and the hanwoo pork seasoned galbi is properly marinated and solid. With just that info, I headed over.

The table signboard on how to grill the meat properly
Just for my meat-fail friend, there's a helpful little signboard explaining exactly how to grill meat well!

Sannae Sutbul Galbi's guide to grilling meat deliciously
- Remove the marinade first and lay down just one piece.
- For thin cuts, flip every 13–15 seconds, 6 times.
- For thick cuts, flip every 13–15 seconds, 8 times.
- Cut into bite-sized pieces.
- Lay the tongs flat and roll the cut pieces around as you grill.
- Enjoy the meat once it's glossy and well-cooked!!
- But on the second round, lay down two pieces instead of one and grill the same way.
- Keep the pork rib bones on a separate plate and grill them last.
Receipt review event gets you free steamed egg or pork skin!
My friend seemed nervous about grilling. He said he needed to use the bathroom? Hahaha; no need to pee yourself over it...
The basic table setting is all set up!
The vibe here is great for a family meal out, and it'd also make a solid spot for a work dinner!
And true to a charcoal galbi place, they brought out the charcoal.

We started by ordering 3 servings of the Korean pork galbi.

A clumsy moment at the table, and how the staff handled it
My friend and I once went to an eel rice bowl place in Cheongmyo, and there's also a restaurant called 'Jangeoga' near his house...
- F (Friend): "That eel-ga place was delicious."
- M (Me): "Hm? Eel-ga? Delicious? Have you been there?"
- F: "No....; I mean the eel there was delicious."
- M: "Oh?...oh..yeah, eel would be delicious there."
- F: "Ugh, so frustrating.. I mean the eel rice bowl we had that time was delicious."
- M: "Ahh~ that place~ the eel rice bowl~ You should've said hitsumabushi so I'd understand. I thought you meant there's a good eel restaurant near your house."
- Staff member: "Even I, a foreigner, understood you... haha"
All three of us cracked up, hahahaha.... so embarrassing;;; (Yep, the staff really are friendly, haha)
First round: 3 servings of marinated pork galbi on the charcoal
Time to actually grill the meat.
Hey hey hey, what are you doing? Pick up the pace.
He laid it out neatly, 1 (mushroom) : 3 (meat) : 1 (mushroom)?

Just look at the color on this — it already looks delicious?
Ugh, can't even debone one pork rib bone?
That meat is clearly sliced right, but my friend really can't grill it, huh? Haha, nervous in front of the camera maybe? Just look at this pale pink color... tsk tsk tsk.

Still, the meat itself looks great.

Alright, line them up! Fall in formation!
Now it's nicely golden brown.
Let's dig in!

Straight to the bone, into bone-sucking mode~
What does the marinated galbi at Sannae Sutbul Galbi taste like?
Hmm.. how do I put this? It's been a while since I had a marinade so deeply infused — genuinely properly marinated, the way seasoned galbi is supposed to taste.
If you want meat that's actually marinated rather than just meat, and you happen to live near Bakdal-dong, Anyang and are looking for a good grill house — go for it. Sannae Sutbul Galbi Bakdal Branch.

After one round, the staff kindly swapped out the grill pan for us.
Hey hey hey, watch your hand.

Is the 2,000-won mushroom add-on worth it?
And the best of the best! Wow... the mushroom add-on isn't on the menu at ₩2,000 for nothing. This this this is seriously good.

They changed the grill pan, so it's getting a rest? Ah... I clearly know nothing about grilling.
While my friend kept grilling, I went back for more taste-testing haha.
This time I wrapped it in lettuce, and — huh?! That exact expression appeared. The culprit? Cabbage marinated in that black sesame dressing (a nutty, slightly thick sauce).
My grill buddy ran out of onions, so I went to the self-serve bar to refill the onion sauce.

Now let's grill and eat the rest of the meat!

Maybe it's the second round, or maybe it's because this is a solid Bakdal-dong, Anyang grill house — his grilling skill +1?
Shredded green onion isn't at the self-serve bar, but ask the staff and they'll bring it over!

Finishing with heaped rice and doenjang jjigae
By this point, we ordered rice (₩1,000) and doenjang jjigae (₩3,000)! But wait... the rice? This isn't just a full bowl — it's a mountain of rice.
The bubbling doenjang jjigae arrived too.
Wow... I think I can retire now. If you have a friend who can't grill meat, just send them to Sannae Sutbul Galbi Bakdal Branch for grilling lessons.
Ah! This particular friend might need a second round of lessons though.

The doenjang jjigae was so good that, even though I was already full, I polished off that mountain of rice.

At the end, in a nice touch for a grill house, they had Snuggle instead of Febreze — and that Snuggle fabric deodorizer's sparkling citrus scent was insane.
The bill: 50,000 won for two
Two grown men ate through Korean pork seasoned galbi ₩15,000 x 3, doenjang jjigae ₩3,000, rice ₩1,000 x 2. Total came to ₩50,000, and we left stuffed!

And that's it! This was basically a sponsored post disguised as me roasting my friend, haha. Just kidding, it was genuinely delicious. (I paid the extra ₩10,000 difference myself.. please don't get the wrong idea..)
If you happen to have a friend who can't grill meat? Try gently saying this to them.
