Solo dessert stop for tiramisu after dinner in Hapjeong: Central Site

I'm the type who always has a separate stomach for dessert after a meal,, (˵• ̀⩊•́˵) that day too, I'd just come out of Kawakatsu tonkatsu in Hapjeong absolutely stuffed, but going straight home felt like a waste.

Thought I'd have a coffee before heading back, so I looked for a nearby café and ended up here. It's a Hapjeong café called Central Site Hapjeong.

Turns out this is a roastery café that roasts its own beans. If you love coffee, you just can't walk past a place like this 🤍

It's located about a minute, roughly 100m, from Hapjeong Station Exit 2, and with the weather cooling down, a lot of people were using the outdoor patio(?) tables too! For reference, I visited well after weekday rush hour so it wasn't very crowded, but from other posts I've seen, it's usually pretty packed!

Solo, so one drip coffee and one tiramisu

Since I came alone, I quietly ordered one drip coffee and one tiramisu. For the drip I picked the Guatemala Entre Volcanes washed,, the name alone sounds like something special (˵¯͒〰¯͒˵) Dessert-wise, only the tiramisu. If I'd come with someone I'd have wanted to try the lotus tiramisu too.. but since I was alone, I held back 🐷

The fun of reading the bean info card

They give you a bean info card along with the drink, and it's actually fun to read.

It said the coffee is grown in the Antigua region, surrounded by three volcanoes. It's part of a smallholder program called San Miguel Mill, where 500 small farmers grow it together, and apparently they don't just make coffee — they also take care of medical and dental care for the farmers and their families,, seeing a story like that makes the coffee taste even better.

Interior seats or the outdoor patio, which to choose

The interior is surprisingly spacious with clean wood tables! If you want the mood or want to take photos, I'd recommend the outdoor tables ☕

Guatemala was the only nutty bean option, and it really was on a different level from franchise americanos. The ice comes in neat square cubes too, and the way it feels in your hand actually reminded me of whiskey.

The tiramisu, that was the real deal today

Let me try a bite of the tiramisu too. Whenever I go to a café, the cake I order is almost always tiramisu or something chocolate, so I consider myself something of an expert!

This one,, was the real deal today. Looking at the cross-section, the layers are stacked beautifully, and there's a generous dusting of cocoa powder and dark chocolate chips on top. One bite and the cream just melts away in your mouth, while the coffee-soaked sponge was incredibly moist. Seems like they make it fresh daily. There's a slightly bitter note with sweetness lingering at the end, and the pairing with the coffee.. was so good.

Sitting alone, sipping coffee, reading the bean card, nibbling on tiramisu bit by bit. That was exactly the kind of time I needed. Work stress has been pretty brutal lately...
