Private yacht cruise for anniversaries in Seoul: Sailing Paradise

In short

Sailing Paradise is a private yacht tour experience in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul. I spent about 1 hour aboard the Humin, enjoying sunset, night views, wine, snacks, photos, and stories about the Han River. Verdict: a lovely way to make an anniversary with someone special feel extra special.

Getting to Sailing Paradise at Yeouido Hangang Park

I visited Sailing Paradise, which is famous for Han River yacht tours at Yeouido Hangang Park.

The price list was posted in this order: private yacht rental, private short-time yacht rental, and public yacht boarding. You can check it out!

I followed the map and arrived here. This is the building, but don't go into Hangang Barbecue over there—go down the stairs instead.

There isn't a way down by elevator from inside, so make sure you head down from outside.

I arrived but wasn't sure where to go, so I contacted the owner, who told me to come into this building~!! After filling out some simple paperwork inside, we went to board the boat.

We followed the owner. We boarded the Humin!

Once we boarded the Humin, I was surprised by how clean the interior was!! There was even a restroom, plus seating and a table inside.

And the owner was incredibly kind!! He provided Bacchus energy drinks, snacks, and white wine. I think it would be great to visit with someone special for an anniversary—your first, second, or even 1,000th day together.

One hour on the Han River, from sunset to night views

Thanks to the owner's consideration, we set sail around 7:30 and got to see the sunset. These days, since it's summer, the sun sets late. About five minutes after we left, the sun slowly started to go down.

It was my first time riding a yacht on the Han River. The scenery was so beautiful. Being on a boat amid the tall buildings around Yeouido was pure healing.

Enjoying the wine the owner provided while riding the yacht was wonderful too. For the first time in a while, I could relax without a single worry.

The sun was gradually setting. I could see why so many people make an effort to ride a boat on the Han River at this time. Seeing the sunset in person, with the river breeze on your face, was so much more moving than seeing it in photos.

We got to have private time right in the middle of the river like this. Honestly, it felt more precious than any experience I'd had in the first half of this year. In weather like this, it wasn't hot at all, and a perfectly cool breeze was blowing.

Private time in the middle of the Han River

The sun was setting in the west, but I was a little surprised to see such a completely different view in the east. Cruising around and enjoying the Han River in every direction made it feel like I had really come to Seoul as a traveler, and I loved it. The sun was slowly going down...

Han River stories from aboard the yacht

You can spend time up on the yacht as well as inside. The owner took photos of us as a couple, and I was so grateful because they came out beautifully. He kept explaining things about the yacht and the Han River along the way, and I thought it was fascinating that seawater flows into the Han River.

As we passed beside Yeouido's many buildings, it really felt like we were on the Han River. The sunset gradually ended and night arrived. The owner said he had operated this yacht for 15 years. Maybe that's why he was such a skilled captain and had so many fun stories to tell. Above all, he was so kind that I felt at ease throughout the yacht tour.

He really cruised with us for an hour, but it felt like just one minute. I was especially touched that he sometimes slows down to time the cruise with fireworks from a neighboring boat. Sadly, we didn't get to see fireworks this time, but the owner's thoughtfulness was just wonderful. He truly seemed to put his customers first.

As the sun went down, our private time was coming to an end too.

Colors of the Han River at sunset

Isn't the color of the river so pretty? As someone from Seoul, I felt that riding a yacht on the Han River was a little unfamiliar, but it was such a unique experience. Then the bridge lights came on, glowing in different colors—it was truly spectacular.. The owner slowed down here too, which I was so grateful for...,

It was almost over now ㅠㅠ We saw so many changes in nature over that one hour. I was grateful that the owner adjusted the timing and showed us so much consideration. He also gave us plenty of space to spend time just the two of us!!

Finally, we wrapped up the yacht tour by eating marshmallow snacks with wine!! It was perfect for spending quality time with someone special, and the scenery was so beautiful. Doing a Han River yacht tour together created such a lovely atmosphere, and it was also fun chatting with the owner and learning new things along the way. I recommend it to anyone who wants to plan something special for someone they care about!!
