Songpanaru Station Italian lunch, candle-lit octopus at Allegro

Today I visited Allegro, a stylish new Italian restaurant that's also a live jazz venue!

I parked at a nearby public lot and walked over. Allegro is only about 200m from Exit 2 of Songpanaru Station, so public transit works well too! It's on the 3rd floor of a new brick building :)

You can see the sign for Allegro Italian dining on the 3rd floor, and right next to it there's a menu board on display. It was nice being able to look through the menu while waiting for the elevator!

Happy hour pasta at 16,000 won and 15% off weekday lunch

During happy hour, pasta dishes are 16,000 won, and on weekday lunches the food menu also gets a 15% discount. Most atmospheric live bars only open in the evening, so if you're looking for a place with a great vibe during the day, Allegro is worth a visit :)

I arrived at Allegro! Even in daytime, the atmosphere was already great 🫶🏻 Most tables aren't far from the jazz bar stage, which was nice. I came in the daytime this time, so now I want to come back in the evening for live jazz 🤭

Allegro has live shows every day except its regular closing day, Tuesday, starting at 7:30pm. Two 40-minute sets run, and there's a live charge of 10,000 won on weekdays and 15,000 won on Friday and Saturday for visitors or reservations! Worth keeping in mind when you go.

During weekday daytime the seating arrangement doesn't matter much, but during dinner time, of course, the closer you are to the stage the better ✨️ It would feel really great to come here during dinner time. 🥺 Allegro had black tables, soft lighting, and that distinct jazz bar mood too. The stage setup is versatile enough for piano, contrabass, drums, vocals and more live performances 🤍

Since we each had to drive, we ordered cola and juice. It was a bit of a shame to have such plain drinks in such a nice place haha 😂 The bread that came with the meal at Allegro was really delicious too!

For the main dish, we ordered the octopus (뽈뽀) that I loved eating in Spain. But I was really surprised by the detail 🥺🤍🤍 — they even gave us a candle service, like for a birthday. It made lunch feel special haha. And the octopus was so tender ✨️

I noticed a table nearby celebrating a birthday too! If you're someone like me who struggles to meet up during dinner time because of kids, or if you just prefer lunch, this is a great place to visit! Most nice-vibe bars only open in the evening, but Allegro is a great restaurant that opens from lunchtime too 🤭

And then my favorite dish, potato gnocchi 🥔🥔 We ended up ordering three dishes total including the steak. Already touched by the first two mains... it's so good 🫶🏻

Finally, the main dish I'd been waiting for arrived — the sous-vide pork steak 👏 Another main dish from Allegro, this Songpa restaurant. It's domestic pork sous-vide and then grilled crispy, and the flavor was really deep. The potatoes served alongside were freshly fried and crunchy 🫶🏻 The little berry garnish was such a cute touch too :)

Allegro, this well-known Songpa restaurant, had great food but the atmosphere was just as good. If you're looking for an Italian restaurant in Songpa, I'd recommend Allegro 🤍
