The vintage, atelier-like exterior of Deokmi Atelier

Deokmi Atelier Gwang-an Branch had that vintage vibe going even before I stepped inside, and I loved it instantly. Brick and wood tones blend naturally together, and with plants and stones arranged around the entrance, it felt less like walking into a café and more like stepping into a tiny atelier.

I visited on a nice sunny day, and the sunlight made the exterior look even more beautiful ☀️

What is the interior of Deokmi Atelier like?

Once you step inside, the vintage interior is built around warm wood tones.

The lighting overall is warm, and there are paintings and little props scattered everywhere, so it was fun just looking around. One spot I especially remember was a wall decorated with postcards and drawings — these little cozy details together seem to create Deokmi Atelier's own particular mood.

The tables and chairs are also in matching wood tones, fitting well with the overall space, and it felt calm and comfortable for chatting. It's a nice place to visit with a friend for dessert, and the atmosphere is good enough that it'd work well for a first date, too.

The four items we ordered at Deokmi Atelier

That day we ordered crème brûlée French toast, peach tiramisu, a royal vanilla bean latte, and a fig latte.

They have everything from brunch dishes and French toast to coffee and non-coffee drinks, so it also seemed like a good place to just stop by for a simple meal. I mostly went with desserts this time, and eating through them one by one, each menu item had its own charm, so it was fun picking and choosing.

Crème brûlée French toast at Deokmi Atelier

The dish I was most looking forward to was the crème brûlée French toast.

It had been a really long time since I'd had French toast, and with all that soft cream piled on top, it looked amazing before I even took a bite. One taste in, and it was sweet with the cream blending in smoothly — delicious. That signature moist, soft French toast texture, plus the sweetness on top, made it the perfect dessert.

I especially took the figs out of my fig latte and ate them together with the French toast — and this combo worked way better than I expected. Getting the sweet French toast and the fig flavor together kept me going back for more bites. Maybe because it'd been a while since I'd had French toast, it tasted even better, and this ended up being the one I remember most from the whole day.

Peach tiramisu: how sweet is it?

And the one that turned out way more delicious than I expected was the peach tiramisu. At first I wondered if peach and tiramisu would even go together, but one bite completely changed my mind.

Soft tiramisu with sweet peach mixed in turned out to be a way better combo than I expected. Thanks to the peach, the tiramisu didn't feel too heavy and had a fresh quality to it, so I kept reaching for more.

Honestly, one bite in and it was so much better than expected that my eyes lit up. I think peach lovers especially would enjoy this one. Personally, this was the dessert that most exceeded my expectations that day.

Royal vanilla bean latte and fig latte

For drinks we ordered a royal vanilla bean latte and a fig latte. The royal vanilla bean latte was smooth and tasty, going well alongside the desserts.

But the one I liked even more was the fig latte. It had way more actual fig in it than I expected. If you like figs, this one would satisfy you — sweet and smooth to drink.

I especially ate the fig latte together with the French toast, and this combo was so good I nearly passed out. The sweet French toast and fig latte pairing worked way better than I expected, and taking turns between the two, they both disappeared fast.

If you're looking for something a little different in dessert and drinks, I'd recommend the fig latte too.

The day the Deokmi Atelier café cat chose me

And there was one more thing that stuck with me most from Deokmi Atelier — the café cat…🐈 I was chatting with a friend at the café, and that day I got properly chosen.

It napped comfortably right next to me, let me give it a little pat, and stayed by my side for a while. Thanks to that, I got to enjoy delicious desserts and a cute cat to the fullest. The café atmosphere was already warm, but with the cat there too, it felt even cozier and more comfortable.

Why Deokmi Atelier is our pick for a Gwangalli dessert café

Overall, Deokmi Atelier Gwang-an Branch is a café good for enjoying atmosphere, dessert, and coffee all together. It'd suit people looking for something a little different from the usual desserts — things like French toast, fig latte, and peach tiramisu.

If you're looking for a good-vibe café in Gwangalli, and you want delicious Gwangalli French toast, give Deokmi Atelier Gwang-an Branch a try. Of everything I had that day, I'd especially recommend the crème brûlée French toast paired with the fig latte. If you like sweet desserts, I guarantee you'll be satisfied! 🌟
