Hey everyone~ The scorching summer is finally fading, are you all settling into fall okay? My appetite has really come back with the cooler weather, so I've been eating all sorts of things lately, haha ㅋㅋㅋ
A while back I went to the Express Bus Terminal in Gangnam for a secondhand item trade! I was wandering around the underground shopping mall and stopped by a place where the stew turned out to be shockingly good!

That place is none other than Bapjangin Express Bus Terminal Branch!! ✨

It's great for solo dining and lets you fill up properly with a real meal — a genuine locals' pick I'm about to spill everything on!

Being located in the terminal basement, the foot traffic was seriously insane! 😲 I saw tons of solo diners, plus families, friends, and couples too — a really wide range of ages!

I really recommend this to anyone who, like me, has errands nearby and is craving a solid solo meal 💖

What comes with the 13,500-won solo Spam set at Bapjangin?
What I picked at Bapjangin Express Bus Terminal Branch was the solo Spam set for ₩13,500. I agonized a lot over the menu board deciding what to eat.

The staff were so professional and friendly~~ 👏 The food flew out right after I ordered, super fast, which for an impatient person like me was extra extra great!! ㅋㅋ

As the rice came out I glanced at the origin label and got touched seeing they use domestically raised Korean pork! haha

How does Bapjangin's kimchi stew taste? Clean, refreshing Korean soul food
The kimchi stew at Bapjangin Express Bus Terminal Branch isn't heavy or murky — it's clean yet refreshing. From the first spoonful I thought, "ah, I came to the right place," haha 😋
Okay everyone, take a look at the menu visuals 😭 This place isn't really about Instagram aesthetics — more like the textbook definition of authentic Korean soul food?! And I'm someone who's totally obsessed with anything kimchi, you know?

Look at the Spam that comes with the set~~ When Spam is too salty you just end up reaching for water, but here it's somehow not salty at all, mild and clean, and pairs perfectly with the kimchi stew?! 🥹

How to make kimchi stew rice with Bapjangin's unlimited gim flakes
The rice at Bapjangin Express Bus Terminal Branch comes in a big bowl perfect for mixing into a rice bowl. The key point of this place is piling on the free unlimited-refill gim flakes (seaweed flakes) and stirring in the spicy kimchi stew broth!
🤫 Releasing my personal eating tip! Here comes the most important point!!

Oh man... it's seriously insane, everyone ㅠㅠ 🤤 You eat the kimchi stew as its own dish, then also get a spicy-sweet rice bowl! Feels like getting two menus in one, two birds one stone, and my happiness level skyrockets ㅋㅋ Mix in the neatly seasoned bean sprout side dish too and the crunchy texture is absolutely killer 👍✨
Final verdict on Bapjangin: what worked and what didn't
My rating is 4.8 out of 5, with 200% intention to return. If I had to pick one drawback, it would just be the atmosphere typical of a terminal shopping arcade.
- ⭐ Rating: 4.8 out of 5!
- 💭 Return visit intention: 200%!!
- 😅 Honest drawback: The taste and service were so good it was hard to find any flaws...! If I had to pick one, maybe the slightly plain and hectic atmosphere typical of a terminal arcade? But once you're eating, it tastes so good you don't even notice, ㅋㅋ
If you're near Express Bus Terminal Station or Shinsegae Gangnam looking for a can't-fail, filling meal, don't think twice — definitely stop by Bapjangin Express Bus Terminal Branch!!
