Diaz Cake Boutique is a cake café on Suwon's Nahyeoseok-geori (나혜석거리) street near Suwon City Hall Station. Today I'm introducing a dessert spot I visited in Suwon. This area has so many great restaurants that it's perfect for grabbing a good meal and then heading to a café as a second stop! It's ideal for meetups or dates!

What is the seating like at Diaz Cake Boutique?

I really loved that Diaz Cake Boutique has private seating :) Thanks to the cozy-feeling seats, I could truly relax while eating cake and drinking coffee. Cafés with comfortable seating are actually rarer than you'd think, and this place was so private and comfortable that I think I'd come back just for the seats!!

European-style interior and photo spots

One side of the Diaz Cake Boutique space is decorated in a European style, as if a quaint back-alley café stumbled upon while traveling in Europe had been transplanted here — it really felt stylish and atmospheric. Every corner of the shop is a photo zone, so just pressing the shutter gives you pretty photos, and especially sitting by the window with European-feeling props in the background while drinking coffee gave me a little thrill of feeling like I was briefly abroad. Chatting away with catching-up conversations, taking pretty photos, and soaking in the coziness and elegance of the space itself — it was wonderful.

Whole cakes and slice cakes on the Diaz Cake Boutique menu

Of course, the real star of this café is the dessert. True to the name 'Cake Boutique,' every cake on the display shelf looked like a work of art, and the taste was even better. They had everything from whole cakes to slice cakes! I found myself wanting to pick up a whole cake here for an anniversary or birthday :) Today I chose a slice cake to eat in the café!

How the fruit cream slice cake tastes: not too sweet

You know how the highest compliment in Korea is 'not too sweet but delicious,' right? Haha. The cream had a texture that melted right in my mouth, with a deep flavor that wasn't overly sweet, and I smiled without realizing it after the first bite. The display case was packed with so many different cake varieties that next time I want to conquer the desserts I didn't get to try today, one by one. Whether it's a day after work when I need a sweet little comfort, or a weekend when I want a cozy café date with my husband, I feel like this place will always come to mind. Next time I want to try the fig cake!! It's exactly fig season right now, and it looked so delicious! I'll definitely visit again soon :)

I also loved how generously the fruit was piled on!!!! Scooping up the fruit layered thickly between the sheets of cake and stuffing my mouth full... this bread-lover was happy! On top of that, the americano, which pairs perfectly with the sweet cake, was also excellent. A sip of coffee with just the right body and a nutty aroma alive in it elevated the cake's flavor to something even more luxurious. Even people who are picky about coffee would be satisfied with this.
