Kid-friendly milmyeon restaurant in Seomyeon, Busan: Seomyeon Milmyeon
In short
Seomyeon Milmyeon is a milmyeon (cold wheat noodle) restaurant in Busanjin, Busan, a 5-minute walk from Exit 8 of Seomyeon Station. On a Sunday outing with the kids to a kids' café and the citizens' park, the writer arrived after 1:30 pm and ordered mul-milmyeon (cold broth noodles), bibim-milmyeon (spicy mixed noodles) and dumplings. The dumplings, with skin so thin the filling shows through, went especially well with the cold mul-milmyeon, though the peppery hot broth served at the table was too spicy for a child.

It was a busy Sunday — in the morning we took the kids to a kids' café, and in the afternoon we went out to the citizens' park. So we ended up eating out for both lunch and dinner. For lunch, my husband said he wanted something cold and refreshing, so we visited a well-known milmyeon spot in Seomyeon. We also ordered dumplings, so we came home nice and full :-)

Seomyeon Milmyeon location and parking: 5 minutes from Seomyeon Station Exit 8

Seomyeon Milmyeon is about a 5-minute walk from Exit 8 of Seomyeon Station, so it's easy to reach by public transport. The building's EOS parking lot gives 30 minutes free, but note that SUVs can't park there.

At the entrance there's a notice about how to use the store along with a kiosk. You order at the kiosk first, and then staff will guide you.

We visited just past 1:30pm, usually a quieter time, but true to its reputation as a milmyeon hotspot, the place was packed, and customers kept streaming in even while we were eating.

Seeing traces of multiple TV appearances and a wall full of autographs, you could tell this place has been loved by many people for a long time.
Seomyeon Milmyeon menu and prices

The Seomyeon Milmyeon menu offers mul-milmyeon, bibim-milmyeon, dumplings, and extra noodles. A large portion is +₩1,000! We ordered mul-milmyeon, bibim-milmyeon, and dumplings.
What comes with the meal, and why the hot broth is too spicy for kids

The basic setup includes warm broth, pickled radish, radish kimchi, and a soy sauce dip for the dumplings. The broth has a good amount of pepper in it, so it's on the spicy side for a child.
Seomyeon Milmyeon dumplings: skin so thin the filling shows through

The dumplings came out first, and even at a glance the wrapper was so thin that you could see the filling through it.

You could see the filling packed tight inside the thin skin, and it looked incredibly appetizing just from looking at it.

Taking a bite, the dumplings are super chewy and springy. They're packed with meat and vegetables, so they taste light and clean, and they're the perfect pairing with milmyeon.
How the mul-milmyeon tastes: clear cold broth with thin noodles

With clear, cold-looking broth and a generous serving of noodles and toppings, this bowl of mul-milmyeon looked like it would cool you down completely on a hot day.

The tangy, sweet, and slightly spicy broth is cold and clean without being heavy, and the noodles are thin but chewy and delicious.

How the bibim-milmyeon tastes: spicy-tangy sauce with a dumpling on the side
We also ordered bibim-milmyeon. The red sauce was piled generously on top of the noodles, and the toppings were just as plentiful, making it look really appetizing.
Just looking at it makes your appetite kick in — that's the visual of bibim-milmyeon for you 😊
With the noodles well mixed with meat and cucumber, slurping it down was great — crisp cucumber, chewy noodles, and a spicy-tangy sauce made for a perfect combination.

The sauce wasn't too heavy, with a clean, spicy-tangy flavor that was delicious. Eating it together with the dumplings was especially good — the spicy bibim-milmyeon and the light, savory dumplings really complemented each other.
Verdict: is Seomyeon Milmyeon worth ordering the dumplings with your noodles?

Trying the mul-milmyeon, bibim-milmyeon, and dumplings one by one, I understood why the place is so crowded. The dumplings with their thin skin and packed filling were especially memorable, and the cold, clean mul-milmyeon and the spicy-tangy bibim-milmyeon each had their own charm that I enjoyed. Pairing the dumplings with the milmyeon was a really great combination. If you're looking for a place where you can enjoy both delicious dumplings and milmyeon together, I'd gently recommend Seomyeon Milmyeon :-)
