Bucheon gastropub with lasagna and pastry pizza: People & Peoples

I was curious about having lasagna as drinking food, so I went to People & Peoples (피플앤피플즈) in Sang-dong, Bucheon, with my husband. We visited for an early dinner and ordered beef roll lasagna, pastry pizza, and draft beer.

Where is it, and can you visit for an early dinner?

People & Peoples is on the first floor of Gukcheon Building in Sang-dong’s restaurant street in Bucheon. I spotted it while walking by, and its outdoor seating area looked inviting too.

At the time of my visit, it was open daily from 4:00 PM until 1:00 AM the following day. Since it opens at 4:00 PM, it was also suitable for an early dinner like ours.

What did we order, and how much was it?

Besides lasagna, there were pizzas, pasta, soups and stews, fried dishes, and tacos. There were several types of lasagna, and it ranked third on the monthly popular-menu list displayed at the restaurant during my visit.

We chose the beef roll lasagna. Since we also like pizza, we added a whole ham cream cheese pastry pizza and a glass of draft beer.

In addition to draft beer, the drinks included imported beer, highballs, cocktails, soju, and wine. Non-alcoholic cocktails were also on the menu.

Can you charge your phone at the table?

While waiting for the food, I noticed the high-speed wireless chargers installed at every seat. They could charge phones, watches, and wireless earphones, so I could use them comfortably at the table without leaving anything at the counter.

What did the ham cream cheese pastry pizza taste like?

The ham cream cheese pastry pizza was one of the signature dishes, and it was 12 inches. It had sausage, house-made ham, minced meat stir-fried in a special sauce, and natural cheese over pastry dough.

When I lifted a slice, the cheese stretched in long strands and gave off a nutty aroma. I was told that the cream cheese was also made in-house.

I do not usually care much for the bread part of pizza, but this dough had many thin layers. It was crisp and did not feel heavy, so I enjoyed even the crust.

The house-made sauce served with it was salsa criolla. I do not usually eat much hot sauce, but this one suited my taste, so I put plenty on the pizza. It also went well with draft beer and conversation.

How much food is the beef roll lasagna and pizza for two?

The beef roll lasagna I had been most looking forward to arrived while we were eating the pizza. With both pizza and lasagna, it was a lot of food for two. To me, the two dishes together felt like nearly three to four portions, so I ate more than usual.

I was told that the beef roll lasagna was made by filling lasagna sheets with sauce and special house-made ham, rolling them up, and baking them in the oven. I like lasagna and have tried it in several places, and I was satisfied with this one too. It worked well as both drinking food and a meal, and I felt the portion was generous for the price.

Where can you park, and how much does it cost?

I was told to use the Gukcheon Building parking lot and then buy a parking ticket from the restaurant for ₩1,000 per hour. Parking was not free.

This time, I had an early dinner with my husband and enjoyed pizza with beer as well. I was satisfied with both the lasagna and pizza, though the order was generous for two. It is a place I might think of again when I want both a meal and a drink.
