Friday night parking tips at Yeondong, Jeju beef BBQ Dolgyeok Hanwoo
In short
Dolgyeok Hanwoo is a 1++ hanwoo (Korean beef) charcoal BBQ restaurant in Yeondong, Jeju City, a short drive from Jeju Airport. On a Friday around 7pm the lot in front of Dolgyeok Hanwoo was full, so we parked at the Sinjeju public parking lot a 3-minute walk away, then ordered 300g of manong (garlic) galbisal for 81,000 won with doenjang sulbap (soybean paste rice) and Dolgyeok jjajang jjapaghetti. With free miyeokguk (seaweed soup) refills and homemade carrot juice for dessert, it was a satisfying meal as long as you plan the parking ahead.

Dolgyeok Hanwoo was the place I was most looking forward to before even coming to Jeju. I'd bookmarked it in my heart after watching a video of food YouTuber Tzuyang visiting and thinking, I absolutely have to go here. Visiting in person, I could see why it's so talked about — the meat quality and the atmosphere were both fully satisfying. Here's my honest review of Dolgyeok Hanwoo, a Jeju hanwoo (Korean beef) restaurant.

Where to park at Dolgyeok Hanwoo: the Sinjeju public lot on a Friday night
Dolgyeok Hanwoo (12 Yeondong 11-gil, Jeju-si) does have a small parking space in front of the building, but it's limited. Arriving around 7pm on a Friday, there was no room near the restaurant, so we used the Sinjeju public parking lot instead.

There's a parking area set up right in front of the restaurant building, but it's small.

If the lot in front is full, the nearby Sinjeju public parking lot (52 Sindae-ro 12-gil, Jeju-si) is a convenient option. It's about 200m from the parking lot to Dolgyeok Hanwoo, roughly a 3-minute walk.

This Jeju hanwoo restaurant is on the corner of the ground floor, and the sign is big and straightforward, so I found it easily even on a first visit.

What the room feels like and how long the Friday wait is
Inside, Dolgyeok Hanwoo has a clean, modern interior with tables arranged comfortably — it looked like a great spot for gatherings or dates. Every table has its own ventilation system, so there's no need to worry about smoke while grilling.

Even though we arrived slightly past Friday's peak hours, the place was packed with customers — I could barely photograph the empty seats. Seeing it busy that late on a weekday, this really is a hot spot. There may be a wait on weekends, so I'd recommend visiting with some time to spare.

What we ordered and the banchan that come with it
We ordered manong galbisal 300g for ₩81,000, Dolgyeok Hanwoo doenjang sulbap for ₩10,000, and Dolgyeok jjajang jjapaghetti for ₩10,000. The basic setting came with a neatly arranged sweet-and-sour dressed lettuce salad, pickles, and kimchi.
There's also a variety of sauces to bring out the meat's flavor even more — from plain salt to a special sauce (Dolgyeok sashimi sauce) to wasabi with wholegrain mustard, mixable however you like.

With hot red charcoal, a wire mesh grill, and garlic-chili soy sauce all set on the table — ready to charge in!!!

And finally, the signature dish arrives — manong galbisal! Top-grade 1++ hanwoo rib cuts piled high with garlic seasoning, an overwhelming sight right from the start.

The free-refill miyeokguk (seaweed soup)
The default miyeokguk (seaweed soup) at Dolgyeok Hanwoo was genuinely the real deal. It's loaded with beef, and one spoonful had me going 'wow, this is deep.' It was so good I wanted to mix in a bowl of rice before even grilling any meat. And since it's refillable, if you love a hot, deep broth, this might be the best perk of all.

How to eat manong (garlic) galbisal at its best
How to enjoy manong galbisal (grill to about 90% doneness)
First bite: eat it plain, with nothing added, to taste Dolgyeok Hanwoo's signature manong sauce flavor on its own.
Second bite: try concentrating the manong sauce. Put the seasoned garlic in a small dish of sesame oil, grill it on the plate, and eat it together.

They explained exactly how to eat it, so I followed along.
- Grill to about 90% doneness, dip in garlic-chili soy sauce, then top with wasabi + wholegrain mustard + Dolgyeok sashimi sauce

- Dip in garlic-chili soy sauce, then pile on plenty of manong sauce

For my taste, the combo of garlic-chili soy sauce plus manong sauce was the best. The rich beefy flavor collaborates with the sauce's sweetness and garlic kick for a really pleasant bite.

Dolgyeok jjajang jjapaghetti and doenjang sulbap
We had our fat, now for the carbs! Dolgyeok jjajang jjapaghetti is nowhere near regular instant jjapaghetti — it's got a deep, upscale jjajang flavor!!! It's generously packed with meat, so we ate it up right to the last bite, plentiful and delicious.

This is the doenjang sulbap my husband picked, since he always needs rice. The savory doenjang broth, simmered thoroughly in an earthenware pot, was a work of art. Even though we hadn't been drinking, it had such a deep flavor it felt like it could cure a hangover.
For dessert, they gave us homemade carrot juice, and the carrot aroma and sweetness were the perfect finish after all that meat.

Is Dolgyeok Hanwoo worth it? Final verdict
Stopping by Dolgyeok Hanwoo during our Jeju trip, I could totally see why Tzuyang came here. Between the quality meat and the generous side dishes, it really boosted how satisfying our Jeju trip felt. The staff were also incredibly kind throughout the meal, which made everything even more enjoyable. If you're near Jeju Airport or in Yeondong and want a hearty, satisfying meal, Dolgyeok Hanwoo — a top pick among Yeondong, Jeju restaurants and Jeju hanwoo restaurants — is well worth a visit.
