Seongdong hair salon: men's cut and down perm at Toro With Geek

The day we went all the way out to Myeongdong for the first time in ages, we figured we might as well get everything done while we were out—so we got my boyfriend’s hair done too! My stamina is trash, so if I spend all day out, I need a full day to recover hahaha. His hair had gotten pretty long lately, and he’d been thinking about getting it tidied up anyway! This is Toro With Geek Singeumho Branch, a hair salon in Geumho-dong known for men’s hair!

Toro With Geek Singeumho Branch is on the second floor at 82 Musumak-gil, Seongdong-gu, Seoul. It is open 10:00–20:00 Monday through Saturday and 10:00–19:00 on Sundays.

A cut plus design down perm costs ₩75,000. We booked in advance with Rocco! It seems that especially on weekends, they take only one person per time slot, so a reservation is essential! You can book through Naver.

Our first visit to Geumho Station—head up to the second floor

It was both of our first times around Geumho Station. Of all days, it was the day of the Yeouido Fireworks Festival, and we alone went out in the opposite direction hahaha. But we did end up going to Noryangjin after his hair appointment, watching the first part, and then heading home, hehe. We really are the type to get everything sorted while we’re already out. Just head up to the second floor.

A space where even the person waiting won’t get bored

Since we were here for my boyfriend’s hair, I was the one waiting and was a little bored, but they had tasty snacks and cold water ready! And there were plenty of phone chargers too, haha.

The salon is quite spacious, but maybe because they focus on one client at a time, my boyfriend was the only customer during this slot! We arrived a little before our reservation and there was only one customer then too; just as my boyfriend’s hair was finished and we were leaving, another customer came in.

The owner seems seriously into One Piece... It was my first time seeing a Luffy Nika figure. There were cute figures decorating spots all around the salon too! The music playing inside was also from my boyfriend’s favorite playlist, which was so wild.

Why we went with a cut and down perm

This was my boyfriend’s hair before the appointment! He said he had washed it and put in spray before coming, so they started with shampoo. It had grown much longer than before and needed some attention, and it had been quite a while since he’d had a perm! It seemed he had only been getting cuts for a while, and he wanted an iron perm for the first time in ages—but because we had already booked a down perm and there was another client after us, they said it would be difficult to change the serviceㅠㅡㅠ Reservations really are that hard to get, so make sure to choose your booking carefully! It was a shame, but we decided to go ahead with the cut and down perm!

Another designer, who was so kind and pretty, even brought me a drink while I waited! They had quite a variety, including coffee, green tea, and mango juice! I picked green tea, haha.

Men’s cut and down perm finished in about one hour

After the cut came the down perm! Maybe Rocco is super quick with their hands, because the cut finished much faster than I expected, and after I watched YouTube for a little while, the down perm was already underway hahaha. They even moved us comfortably so we could sit together and chat, and all the designers were so kind that it made us feel great!

From the cut and perm to the finishing touches, it took exactly about an hour! My boyfriend is usually quite particular about his hair and tends to ask for this and that at the end, but that day he barely requested anything...!? I wasn’t sure whether that was good or bad, but as soon as we walked out, he said he absolutely loved his hair hahaha.

Even without my boyfriend making any special requests, he loved how Rocco had styled it to suit both his taste and the trend~! There really is a reason popular places are popular!

And there was a Yakult lady right outside the salon,,,, You know how rare that is, right? So after my boyfriend’s appointment, we went to buy some Kiri cream cheese cookies from her, but she said they were all sold out... oh noㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ If you come here for your hair, please make sure to try the Kiri cream cheese cookies...
