I got lunch to go from Yangjae Katsu, a well-known spot near Yangjae Station. It's a place popular with locals thanks to its solo-diner-friendly vibe, and it's famous around Yangjae Station for cheese donkatsu, fillet katsu, and tenderloin katsu. They do dine-in, takeout, and delivery — here's my takeout review!
Location and parking — 9 minutes from Yangjae Station exit 8

Yangjae Katsu sits a 9-minute walk from Yangjae Station exit 8, near Yangjaecheon Café Street. There's no dedicated parking lot, but Yangjae Public Parking Lot is just a 5-minute walk from the restaurant, so parking isn't a hassle.

This Yangjae Station restaurant has even been featured on Seoul Matdong-yeojido (a Seoul food map site). If you've been looking for a donkatsu spot near Yangjae Station, I highly recommend it.
An easy spot to eat solo — seating and cleanliness

The cleanliness really reflects the owner's personality. If you're after a tidy restaurant near Yangjae Station, this one's a strong pick.

There are plenty of seats that are comfortable for eating alone, making this a great spot for solo dining near Yangjae Station.
Menu board — solo sets and sides

There's a wide variety of solo-diner set menus here, which makes it easy to eat alone. The sets come in different combinations, including shrimp sets and noodle sets.

For sides, there's fried shrimp and mini curry. They also have zero-sugar cola and alcohol, so it's a good place for a casual drink after work too.
Takeout review — the setup and three sauces

Since they also do delivery, the packaging was really meticulous. The owner seems very detail-oriented.

Isn't the spread generous? I was very happy with how much rice and cabbage they packed in. A great filling meal near Yangjae Station.

They included three sauces with the takeout — wasabi, pink salt, and katsu sauce. Yangjae Katsu is amazing for giving you the same variety of sauce combos as dine-in even for takeout. Check the photo above for how to enjoy them best!
Comparing loin katsu, fillet katsu, and cheese katsu

The loin katsu (rosu katsu) is tender thanks to a perfect balance of fat and lean meat, the fillet katsu (hire katsu) is light and nutty with no fat, and the cheese katsu has an over-the-top look with mozzarella cheese overflowing out of it.

All three — fillet katsu, loin katsu, and cheese katsu — are so good it's hard to pick a favorite, so I'd recommend ordering a mixed combo like I did to try a couple of kinds.

My personal recommendation is the cheese+fillet or cheese+loin combo. Cheese katsu is one of Yangjae Katsu's signature dishes, and it's the best cheese katsu I've ever had. There's a reason it's the signature — the nuttiness is incredible, like 'so this is what real mozzarella cheese donkatsu tastes like.' After only ever eating chain-store cheese donkatsu, I'm so happy to have found an independent restaurant near Yangjae Station that does cheese donkatsu properly.
Wrap-up

A well-known donkatsu restaurant near Yangjae Station that locals frequent, with a comfortable atmosphere for solo dining — I recommend Yangjae Katsu!
