A Siheung Baegot restaurant worth knowing about
Why right after opening is the quietest time at Ssosam 208 Siheung Baegot
Ssosam 208
This place is famous enough to have aired on Saengsaeng Jeongbotong, Oneul Jeonyeok, Idol Tour, and Hwanggeum Nachimban!! So I was even more curious about it~
I visited right when it opened and it was so nice and quiet~ Sometimes a lively, crowded atmosphere is fun, but sometimes this kind of quiet is exactly what you want, so timing your visit right lets you enjoy it either way.

There are apparently 7 tips for enjoying Ssosam 208 to the fullest~

Ordering by kiosk at Ssosam 208: meat sets and single dishes
You order through a kiosk~ Before ordering, I noticed the kimchi used is food safety-certified, which made me trust the food even more.

They sell a variety of meat sets and à la carte options~

Staff-grilled meat and the full table spread
I visited Ssosam 208 wanting Korean BBQ in Baegot. Taste matters at a BBQ place, but grilling it yourself always takes a bit of attention — here, the staff grill the meat for you, which made the meal so much more relaxing.
They grill the meat into nice bite-sized pieces, so we just chatted and waited comfortably. The meat looked delicious the moment it started turning golden brown, and the first bite had plenty of juiciness and a nutty flavor that kept me reaching for more~

A generous table spread with asparagus, onion, bean sprouts, napa cabbage kimchi, garlic, and more to make the meat even tastier!!
Even looking at the photos again makes my mouth water and makes me want to go back.

Steamed egg custard: the side to eat between bites of meat
Meat alone felt like it wasn't enough, so we also ordered egg custard (gyeranjjim). It came out soft and fluffy, and was great to have between bites of meat — warm and tender, it paired really well with the meat!! Meat and egg custard are a perfect combo.

How did the meat at Ssosam 208 taste?
I could really feel how juicy the meat was!! As it started sizzling on the grill, that nutty smell rose up and got me excited even before eating. The nicely browned meat had a slightly crisp outside with a moist inside, and the more I chewed, the more that savory juiciness came through — it was really delicious.
The meat itself had a clean yet rich flavor, so it was great even without sauce or sides. Eating a well-grilled piece wrapped with lettuce added a crunchy texture that kept me reaching for more!!
The meat wasn't too dry — just moist enough to eat without feeling heavy — and grilling it golden brown on the pan seemed to bring out even more of that nutty flavor. Eating it hot off the grill definitely made it taste even better haha

Wrapping a piece of meat with wild garlic leaves (myeongi-namul), chili, and garlic on top is delicious!!

Finishing with cold noodles and cheese fried rice
It felt wrong to skip cold noodles (naengmyeon) when eating meat, so we ordered that too. A cool, tangy bite of noodles alongside a piece of meat — that combo really is the best. The noodles cleanly cut through the rich, nutty flavor of the meat, so we kept alternating between the two!! Topped with egg, pickled radish, and cucumber, it looked even more appetizing.

The cool broth makes the cold noodles so delicious! It was tangy and refreshing, so good.

The more I eat, the more signature-worthy dishes there seem to be!! This fried rice is really the kicker!!

Even after eating plenty of meat and feeling somewhat full, the fried rice still went in haha~~ It was piled high with cheese, so it was nutty and soft and delicious~ A place I'd want to revisit — I'd recommend it for a group dinner or a casual meal out.
Since staff grill the meat at Ssosam 208 Siheung Baegot Branch, I could eat comfortably, and the meat was cooked golden brown so I got to properly enjoy that moist, nutty flavor. If you're looking for a place to eat Korean BBQ in Baegot, this seems like a good one to check out :)
