After a drive to Ananti Cove in Busan, I stopped by Deokmi Gijang Branch, an ocean-view café right on the coast, known for its cakes, and had dessert and coffee 🍰

Deokmi Gijang Branch, an ocean-view café with the sea right out front, isn't a huge flashy place like some big cafés — it felt more like an old house had been given warmth and a new life ✨

The overall vibe is calm, so it's a nice place to linger over a cup of coffee, and if you sit by the window you get a picture-perfect view of the Gijang sea 🌅

The space is split into two areas with different moods, so honestly every seat looks nice!! On a sunny day, just looking out at the sea from inside puts you in a good mood.

What's on the menu at Deokmi Gijang Branch?

Deokmi has such a wide range of cheesecakes and tiramisu that I actually had a hard time deciding what to order~ Besides the signature Oreo cheesecake, they have tiramisu and cakes that change with the season. There were even gift-worthy desserts for Chuseok season!!

As a Kiri partner café, they use good-quality Kiri cream cheese, so you get richer, more flavorful desserts here, and the drink menu was pretty varied too — I ended up ordering the signature menu items at Deokmi Gijang Branch.

With a dedicated pastry chef and barista on hand, Deokmi Gijang is a café where you can enjoy excellent desserts and coffee in an atmospheric setting :)

How does Deokmi's signature Oreo cheesecake taste?

Deokmi's signature dessert, the Oreo cheesecake, hits you first with a dense yet soft, rich cheesecake flavor, then the sweet-bitter Oreo taste layers on top — it's the kind of flavor pretty much anyone would like!

The rich, savory flavor of the cheese was the highlight, and thanks to the Oreo it felt more layered than a plain cheesecake, and it goes really well with coffee. It's Deokmi's signature dessert cake, so definitely try the Oreo cheesecake 🍰

Fig Earl Grey tiramisu, the seasonal cake at Deokmi

The fig Earl Grey tiramisu is a seasonal dessert at Deokmi Gijang Branch. Tiramisu usually makes you think of coffee flavor and mascarpone cream first, but with fig and Earl Grey added, it felt a bit different from the usual.

Between the soft mascarpone cream, the subtle sweetness and fresh fruitiness of the fig came through, which felt refreshing, and the Earl Grey aroma made the whole thing taste more sophisticated ❤️

On top of the moist, soft mascarpone cream, you could feel the texture of the fig, which was really delicious — and since Deokmi rotates in fresh fruit or seasonal ingredients for their tiramisu, it's nice that you can try a different seasonal dessert cake every time you visit.

Bomnaeum house-made mugwort cream latte and Americano

Bomnaeum is a house-made mugwort cream latte. The distinct mugwort aroma comes through gently, paired with the soft, sweet cream, making it easy to drink almost like a dessert — the mugwort scent and flavor were fragrant and nutty but subtle, so it was more approachable than I expected.

Since the desserts tend to be sweet, I also ordered an Americano — and yes, clean coffee is the best match for dessert! A bite of Oreo cheesecake followed by a sip of Americano clears the lingering sweetness right out of your mouth, so refreshing! For reference, the hot Americano used a nutty, heavier bean, while the iced Americano used a slightly brighter bean for a cleaner finish.

Is Deokmi Gijang Branch worth a stop on a Gijang coastal drive?

Deokmi Gijang Branch isn't a flashy, large-scale café — it's a dessert café where you can slowly enjoy coffee and dessert right by the sea. It's especially lovely with the Gijang sea view spread out beyond the floor-to-ceiling windows, and it's pet-friendly too, making it a great stop after a drive around Gijang or a visit to Ananti Cove or the Osiria tourism complex!
