Jeongja Station seafood bar, clam-packed steamer pot: Bacha Jeongja
In short
Bacha Jeongja is a seafood steamer-pot bar on Jeongjail-ro near Jeongja Station in Seongnam, Gyeonggi. Three of us visited on a Saturday around 7pm and shared the signature bacha badajjim (steamed seafood pot, 37,000 won) with a kalguksu noodle add-on for 3,000 won, plus cheese-jamon melon and onion cheese nachos, and drank Saero soju highballs with tonic water. Every clam at Bacha Jeongja had opened, the broth tasted clean and refreshing, and the kitchen gave a generous extra helping of bean sprouts on request.

What kind of bar is Bacha Jeongja near Jeongja Station?
Bacha Jeongja is a seafood jjim (steamed dish) bar on Jeongjail-ro156beon-gil near Jeongja Station. It's open daily from 5pm to 2am the next day, and parking is free for 1 hour.

I visited "Bacha" around 7pm on a Saturday. I loved the haemul-tteokjjim (seafood and rice cake stew) last time, so I was so curious about the other menu items! The inside was buzzing with energy 😍

The house snack is salty pretzels.
What's on the menu at Bacha Jeongja?
Bacha's mains range from seafood-packed jjim dishes to steamed pork (suyuk) and stir-fries. There's also pasta, chicken, and fried items.

Fruit and cheese platters, jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle) soup, and odeng nabe (fish cake hot pot).
Squid, dried pollack, grilled scallops, cheese-jamón melon, croquettes.
Hotteok (sweet pancake) ice cream, nachos, and all kinds of noodle add-ons — the range is really wide.
The drink list was massive. Cocktails, highballs, traditional liquor, whiskey, wine, soju, beer, non-alcoholic drinks — there was literally everything 👍🏻 I've never seen this much variety in one bar!!! They're running a Naver review event where you can get a mini watermelon hwachae (fruit punch), a yogurt-ice drink, or a cocktail, so it's worth joining!

Bacha badajjim: a steamer pot packed with clams

First up is Bacha's signature dish, "bacha-badajjim" ❤️ It's loaded with fresh seafood and clams shipped straight from the source. Scallops, various clams, a whole squid, and shrimp, plus bean sprouts and bok choy for a clean, refreshing broth. Just looking at it, you can tell how fresh it is, right?
They cut the whole squid up nicely for us 🥰
We separated all the clams from their shells. While doing it, we all said we didn't expect this many clams! And not a single one stayed shut!! The broth is so refreshing thanks to all the seafood. There's also a kick of heat from cheongyang chili — perfect drinking food!! We kept it simmering so it stayed warm the whole time 😍

We mixed Saero soju with tonic water — so good!! No exact ratio, just went by feel, and it was delicious 🤗 Cheers!! Such a fun time 😍

We ate the squid, scallops, and clams a few different ways, dipping them in chojang (vinegar-chili sauce) or wasabi-soy sauce.

When we asked for more vegetables partway through, they seemed to give us an entire bag of bean sprouts ㅋㅋㅋ thanks to that we ate so well 💕 When we ordered the kalguksu noodles, they threw in kimchi too. The noodles were chewy and salty, so I kept reaching for more 🫶🏻
Onion cheese nachos and cheese-jamon melon

The onion cheese nachos were great to snack on so things didn't feel dull between rounds. The onion sauce and cheese sauce on top were creamy and addictive 🥰

The cheese-jamón melon layers sweet melon with jamón and cheese for a sweet-salty combo — such a great way to close out the meal. I want to have it again 💕 Highly recommend the cheese-jamón melon as a finisher 😍
Paying with gift certificates and what else Bacha Jeongja offers

Bacha Jeongja accepts the Seongnam Love Gift Certificate, and they had fabric deodorizer, hair ties, floss, and mouthwash ready to use. Both this time and last time, every dish at "Bacha Jeongja" ❤️ satisfied me completely. So next time I want to go back and try something else on the menu. Autumn nights have such a lovely breeze. Come enjoy this fall season at "Bacha Jeongja" ♡
