I love Mini Male, and this time I visited the Gyodae Station branch — Mini Male Coffee Roaster Gyodae Court Branch. I tried the Helsinki latte, fresh tomato juice, buckwheat salt bread, and orange pound cake.
I usually don't go for overly sweet coffee or desserts, so it was great that everything I ordered that day suited my taste so well. The Helsinki latte in particular was much tastier than I expected — a menu item I'd definitely order again.

What is the atmosphere like at Mini Male Gyodae Court Branch?

Mini Male Gyodae Court Branch stands out from a distance with its clean, all-black exterior. The full glass front lets you see inside from the street, and the overall feel is minimal without any clutter.

Inside, there are seats running along the big window, and the black tables paired nicely with the soft lighting. The vibe I got wasn't a loud, crowded café but more of a comfortable place to sip coffee and chat. So if you're looking for a Gyodae café for a blind date and you like this kind of calm mood, it could be a good fit.

Helsinki latte decaf, 5,700 won: exactly my taste

Helsinki latte decaf: this was my favorite menu item this time. When ordering, I told the owner I don't really like sweet drinks and asked for it less sweet. They told me that cutting the sweetness could actually make the flavor flat, so I just went with the original.
After drinking it, I understood exactly what they meant. The latte itself was rich and really nutty, with almost no sense of sweetness while drinking. But once you finish it, a very slight sweetness lingers in your mouth. I really loved that lingering note.
It was like drinking a rich wine where a faint sweetness rises up in the aftertaste — behind the deep, nutty flavor of the latte came a gentle sweetness. Not sweet while drinking, just a touch at the very end. Ah, I thought, maybe this is the golden ratio! If you care about coffee quality at a Gyodae Station café, I'd personally recommend the Helsinki latte.
Is the 100% fresh tomato juice good with less syrup?

100% fresh tomato juice: I asked for just a tiny bit of syrup in the tomato juice. It wasn't sweet, and I could really taste the fresh flavor of raw tomato, which I loved.
It wasn't a juice you drink just because it's good for you — it was one you keep drinking because it tastes good. I basically downed it like a shot. It felt good to enjoy something healthy that also tasted great, for once. If you like the fresh taste of tomato, ordering it with less syrup is worth trying.

Buckwheat salt bread, 3,900 won: crisp, chewy crust

Buckwheat salt bread: if you're picking out a dessert at Mini Male for a Gyodae café visit, this one is worth trying too. The outside of the salt bread is densely covered in sesame-like buckwheat grains.
With every bite, the buckwheat crunches. The salt bread itself has a rich buttery flavor while staying light, and with the nutty buckwheat crunching throughout, the texture was really great — a different kind of charm from regular salt bread.
Orange pound cake, 4,800 won: bright and not sweet

Orange pound cake: it looked pretty, and it also turned out to be my type. I expected a pound cake to be quite sweet, but this one was less sweet than expected, with the bright, fresh flavor of orange still coming through.

It also paired well with the Helsinki latte. Where the buckwheat salt bread was nutty and crunchy, the orange pound cake was soft and refreshing, so eating both together let me enjoy two very different flavors.
Who should visit Mini Male for coffee and desserts that aren't sweet?

Everything I ordered that day shared one thing I love: none of it was excessively sweet. The Helsinki latte left just a faint sweetness behind its rich, nutty flavor, the tomato juice was fresh, the buckwheat salt bread was nutty and crunchy, and the orange pound cake was refreshing without being sweet.
For someone like me who isn't into strongly sweet desserts, Mini Male's menu suited me really well. The clean, calm space also made it a nice spot to relax over coffee and dessert while chatting.
Above all, I keep thinking about that Helsinki latte. Next time I'd like to try other items, but I'm pretty sure I'll order the Helsinki latte again. My intent to revisit is at one hundred percent.
