Wood-fired pizza on Garosu-gil, Seoul: prosciutto rocket at Casamil
In short
Casamil Sinsa Garosu-gil is a terrace-view Italian restaurant on the 1st floor of La Casa Hotel, at the end of Garosu-gil near Sinsa Station in Gangnam, Seoul. Two of us ordered two 39,000 won lunch sets — seafood tomato pasta and whole squid ink risotto — and added a rocket and prosciutto wood-fired pizza, where the chewy oven-baked dough and the mountain of rocket stood out most. With free corkage and 2 hours of free parking, Casamil works well as a wine gathering or date course.

Casamil Sinsa Garosu-gil is an Italian restaurant on the 1st floor of La Casa Hotel, near the end of Garosu-gil by Sinsa Station. My coworker and I planned to have a bit of a Garosu-gil date while we were at it, and decided to eat Western food at casameal Casamil, which is famous as a brunch spot!

The weather has been really nice lately, day after day :)
What does the name Casamil mean?
I was curious what 'Casamil' meant, and it turns out it's Italian CASA (house) + MEAL, meaning 'home-cooked meal'! It carries the meaningful idea of serving a comfortable meal at Casamil, with the spirit of inviting a guest into your home.
Why did we decide to eat at Casamil? Because I completely fell for the terrace view that felt exactly like being on a trip to Italy...★

The food is delicious, of course, but they also have separate lunch course and dinner course menus prepared, so it's perfect for booking ahead and visiting with a boyfriend, acquaintances, or coworkers to enjoy a nice course meal together!

Casamil is already well known as an Italian restaurant with great atmosphere on Sinsa Station's Garosu-gil...! Made with fresh ingredients, they had a really wide range of Western menu items — from seafood oil pasta and beef striploin steak, to pasta, risotto, steak, brunch, salads, pizza, side dishes, and wine.
Casamil has its own parking available within the building, so if you have a car you can visit comfortably. Just a heads up~ heads up!
Terrace-view seats and a dining room facing the wood oven
When I visited, the inside was already more than half full of people...! At a glance, the sense-of-style interior and the relaxed table spacing made it feel like a perfect spot for a couple's date, a lunch near Sinsa Station, a company group dinner, or a family gathering :)

Ta-da,, the thing I liked most was Casamil's terrace view~ The moment I walked in, I claimed this seat! haha
The interior overall is really clean! True to being a well-known wood-fired pizza spot on Garosu-gil, you can see the wood oven baking right inside the restaurant!

The cute Totoro figures I spotted in the middle...♥
I slowly looked around the interior bit by bit, and everything — the interior, the lighting, the whole vibe — was so good without missing a beat. There are big trees outside near the entrance, so it felt a little exotic, like 'is this really Korea...' It seems like a great place for a wedding invitation gathering too :) If you're doing a wedding invitation meetup on Sinsa Garosu-gil, go with Casamil...★
What comes with the 39,000 won lunch set at Casamil
The lunch set menu is just ₩39,000 for soup + salad + one main + dessert + coffee — everything from dessert to coffee is packed in generously, so you'd really be missing out if you didn't order the lunch set...! And by the way, since the lunch pasta course became so popular, they also opened a lunch steak course..! The lunch steak course comes with soup + salad + steak & mushroom cream risotto + dessert + coffee or tea, so you can enjoy steak and risotto together on one plate for a satisfying course at a reasonable price~
We ordered two lunch sets — one with seafood tomato pasta and one with whole squid ink risotto — and added a rocket and prosciutto wood-fired pizza on top :) Each table has a tablet, so it's easy to browse the menu and even easier to order.
Bread before the meal, then the soup
Not long after ordering, the pre-meal bread, soup, and pickles came out~ The bread was really chewy, and it had onion flakes sprinkled on top, which added even more savory depth, I'd say..? The palate-cleansing pickles were also really tasty, and the soup was warm and nutty, spreading through your mouth in a way that really got the appetite going.

For coffee, we ordered an iced americano and a hot decaf americano, and they came out together with the pre-meal bread and soup :)
Rocket and prosciutto wood-fired pizza: a mountain of rocket

Next up, the main dish! The rocket and prosciutto pizza. Piled high with rocket and prosciutto on top of Casamil's own house-made tomato sauce, with cheese sprinkled generously over it — just looking at this wood-fired pizza... it looked really delicious~

We shared it slice by slice, and the freshness of the rocket was amazing~ And maybe because it's wood-fired, the dough was chewy, and the rocket's aroma and crisp bite, combined with the tomato sauce spread on the pizza, the nutty cheese.. and the salty prosciutto — this whole combination really worked well together!
There are hardly any places in Gangnam that offer free corkage, so wine lovers will be happy that Casamil is corkage-free~
By the way.. the amount of rocket on this wood-fired pizza is insanely generous, so if you like rocket, you should definitely order the rocket and prosciutto pizza when you go to Casamil!

Then, one by one, more dishes we'd ordered started arriving~ hoho
Whole squid ink risotto at Casamil

We decided to order a risotto too! There were so many types of risotto that it was hard to decide, and we settled on the whole squid ink risotto...! The moment it arrived, I already knew we'd made the right call ordering the whole squid ink risotto~

A whole squid sitting right on top of the risotto — the visual was amazing~ We cut it up with scissors to make it easier to eat, and having it together with the ink risotto, cheese, and the squid — the combination was really great. I think the squid ink especially made the flavor come through even more richly!
Seafood tomato pasta at Casamil

The Casamil seafood tomato pasta caught our eye the moment it arrived with all its generous seafood! Inside were baby octopus, shrimp, mussels, and other kinds of seafood, all blending nicely with the tomato sauce :) The pasta noodles were unusually thicker than typical pasta, which gave it a nice chewy bite, and the baby octopus was so wonderfully chewy... This is definitely on my pick list to order again next time I visit Casamil Sinsa!

Ice cream to finish: is the Casamil lunch course worth it?
For the final dessert, we finished with a yogurt-flavored ice cream...! It was really perfect for cleansing the palate, and so delicious... This ice cream had a really chewy texture, which made it even more enjoyable.
For just ₩39,000 on Garosu-gil near Sinsa Station in Gangnam, you get pre-meal soup and bread, a main pasta dish, and even dessert and coffee! Casamil's great-value lunch course is something I'd genuinely recommend trying!
