Italian restaurant in Dunsan-dong, Daejeon: vongole at Bologna
In short
Bologna Daejeon Dunsan Branch is an Italian restaurant in Dunsan-dong, Seo-gu, Daejeon. I had clam vongole pasta, basil-forward Margherita pizza, and complimentary coffee after the meal in its old-European-style setting. Verdict: a lovely pick for a date or family meal.

I visited while looking for a restaurant with a nice atmosphere in Dunsan-dong, Daejeon, for a family gathering or a date. This time, I went to Bologna Daejeon Dunsan Branch (볼로니아 대전둔산점).
From the moment I walked in, the food was one thing, but the striking interior—like an old European restaurant—really stood out. There were plenty of photo spots, and the atmosphere made me think it would be a great date place too.
It is conveniently located for getting around Dunsan-dong, so it is easy for either a family meal or a date with your partner. The atmosphere in particular was very nice.

An interior that catches your eye right away
Inside, wood-toned furniture blends with classic decorative pieces. Frames and ornaments decorate the walls, while wine is displayed along one side. The overall feeling is warm and refined, a little different from an ordinary casual restaurant.

The tables were spaced nicely and the lighting was soft, making it a good place to eat slowly and chat. This atmosphere is exactly why I would recommend it for a date or family gathering!

Heineken and lemonade with pizza
A glass of Heineken. Beer simply cannot be left out with food like this. 😆 We ordered a bottle of Heineken too. Pizza and beer are a combination that never fails, haha.
If you are visiting with family members who do not drink alcohol, lemonade is a good choice too. It was tangy and refreshing, so it went well with the pasta or pizza. It especially felt like it freshened up the palate alongside pizza, which can feel a little rich!

How was the clam vongole pasta?
One of the dishes I enjoyed most was the clam vongole pasta. It was clean-tasting but kept drawing me back for another bite. Personally, some vongole is overly salty or has only a strong garlic flavor, but here the clams' distinct, refreshing flavor and the pasta worked beautifully together.

Margherita pizza full of basil aroma
And the Margherita pizza was more delicious than expected. It had basil over the tomato and cheese, and every bite brought a wonderful burst of fragrant basil. I think anyone who likes basil would be very satisfied with this one!

Complimentary coffee after the meal
After the meal, they provided coffee as a complimentary service. Thanks to that, we could finish up with coffee right at the restaurant instead of looking for a separate café. The coffee I had was nicely clean-tasting too, and I liked being able to take care of everything from the meal through coffee time in one place. Haha.
