Why we chose Gwijok Uisangsil for hanbok rental in Jeonju Hanok Village

My fiancé and I recently went on a trip to Jeonju 😊💕 On this trip, I finally got to check off one of my longtime dreams! It was putting on hanbok (traditional Korean dress) and walking around Jeonju Hanok Village for pretty photos 👘📸 Every time I visited Jeonju Hanok Village before, I'd see people in gorgeous hanbok taking photos and think, I really want to try that myself.

So on this trip we decided to properly do Jeonju Hanok Village hanbok rental, and we visited Gwijok Uisangsil in Jeonju, where you can do hanbok rental and snap photography together!

It's still hot out, so I worried the hanbok might be sweltering, but luckily the store was fully air-conditioned so it actually felt nice and cool haha. Such great attention to detail >.<
Gwijok Uisangsil felt special the moment we walked in

There are many hanbok rental shops in Jeonju Hanok Village, but the atmosphere at Gwijok Uisangsil left an impression from the moment we stepped inside.

The elegant, enlightenment-era-style interior was especially charming, and I thought it would make a great backdrop for photos. The variety of costumes was impressive too!

They had everything from kids' costumes to adult sizes, and adult hanbok came in a wide range from S to 2XL, so it was easy to find something that fit.
So many kinds of hanbok to choose from in Jeonju Hanok Village 👘

Once you're in the hanok village, hanbok is a must! One of the best parts of this Jeonju Hanok Village hanbok rental was just how many different styles they had ready to wear.

Starting from basic traditional hanbok, they also had special concept costumes like warrior outfits, dragon robes, court eunuch attire, eoudong-style dress, and magistrate costumes. These are outfits you don't normally get to try on, so it was fun just browsing and deciding which style to pick 😆

They don't just rent out hanbok — you can also use hair accessories and various other accessories, which made the whole styling feel much more complete.

Putting on the pretty hanbok and styling my hair made me feel completely different from my usual self 🥰 For a moment I felt like a noble young lady from a wealthy family, and it matched the timeworn charm of Jeonju Hanok Village so well. Walking the hanok village in Jeonju hanbok became a truly special experience on this trip.
A special Jeonju Hanok Village experience with my fiancé

As much as I looked forward to wearing hanbok, I was just as excited for the snap photography 📸 Honestly, when you travel you take a lot of pictures, but photos of the two of us together end up surprisingly rare. If one person takes the photo, only the other shows up, and selfies or tripods rarely give you a natural shot.

So this time we did the snap photography together with the Jeonju Hanok Village hanbok rental, and it was such a good call! Shooting with professional photographers meant we came away with much more natural, pretty photos.
They had high-end camera equipment and a variety of props that suited the shoot, which made the whole mood of the photos feel even more special. We also made good use of the indoor and outdoor photo zones, so we ended up with photos in a bunch of different moods 😊

The photos taken against the hanok village backdrop were gorgeous, and the shots at Gwijok Uisangsil's own photo zone had a different, distinct charm. This Jeonju Hanok Village experience felt so much more immersive than just sightseeing — actually wearing hanbok and taking photos pulled me deeper into the trip.
The natural retouching made the snap photos even more satisfying

And the part I was really happy with was the photo retouching! 💕 You want to look pretty in photos, but overly heavy editing can sometimes look awkward instead. At Gwijok Uisangsil, experts with over three years of studio experience do the Photoshop retouching, keeping it natural rather than artificial. Seeing the results in person — totally satisfied!!
If wearing hanbok and taking pretty photos in Jeonju Hanok Village has been your dream too, like it was mine, definitely give this a try 🥰
