Dongtan hair salon volume magic with clinic B course: Juno Hair

I've got naturally wavy hair, so I get volume magic (a Korean straightening perm) done regularly. But this summer was so hot that I kept putting off going to the salon, haha.ㅠㅠ Before I knew it, I'd gone way past the time I should've had it done, and my hair was in worse shape than I expected.

At that point I figured I shouldn't just go anywhere — I needed a place that would do it properly, so I went to Juno Hair Dongtan SRT Station Branch. This time I got volume magic from designer Yejin along with the clinic B course. :)

Juno Hair Dongtan SRT Station Branch is right next to Dongtan Station, so it was easy to find. It's about 322m from Exit 2 of Dongtan Station, roughly a 5-minute walk. The building is visible from the main road too, so I found it without any trouble.

Inside the 95-pyeong salon, kids' room included

The salon was bigger than I expected right from the entrance — that's what caught my eye first. At 95 pyeong, the space is huge, and the overall interior was pretty special too.

They said the space is designed around the temple where the goddess Hera lives — there's a grand feel right from the entrance, and the inside is clean and trendy.

There was plenty of space between seats too, so it didn't feel cramped even for treatments that take a long time.

Since the salon is so spacious, the shampoo area had plenty of room too. What caught my eye there was the Verse Spa shampoo chair. It's a shampoo chair combined with a massage chair, and having actually tried it, it was really good. I'll talk more about that below. :D

There was also a separate kids' room on one side. That's something you can't help but worry about when you have to bring a kid along to the salon, so having a space where kids can stay makes it a good option for family visits too.

Consultation with designer Yejin before the volume magic

Before the treatment, I checked my current hair condition with designer Yejin. What I wanted wasn't hair pulled totally straight and flat, but something that calmed down the frizzy parts while leaving a natural volume. After talking through the look I wanted and consulting based on my hair's condition, we started the volume magic.

Straightening perms take quite a while, right? Since I was already setting aside the time, I wanted to take care of my hair condition too, so this time I added the clinic B course as well.

What the clinic B course adds to volume magic

Since I'd gone way past the time I should've had my hair done, and my hair was already dry and brittle, I figured while I was at it with the volume magic, I might as well add the clinic B course too.

They went through it step by step, starting with moisture and moving on to protein. Getting hair care done together with the volume magic, instead of just the perm alone, made my hair look healthier just by looking at it!

The last step of the clinic course took place at the Verse Spa shampoo chair. My back and body were starting to feel stiff by then, so getting a massage while finishing the clinic treatment felt amazing. Big props to myself for adding the clinic course!!

Once everything was done, the frizzy hair I came in with was much calmer and more settled. Best of all, even though I'd had a straightening perm, my hair didn't feel too flat — the natural volume I wanted was still there, and I loved that.

Looking from the side, the overall line was cleaner, and looking from the back, the before-and-after difference was even more obvious. It came out just the way I'd described to designer Yejin in our first consultation, so I was really satisfied.

Was the volume magic plus clinic worth it?

Now that my hair's tidied up after so long, I keep wanting to let down the hair I usually tie up every day, lol. This time I feel like I was more satisfied because I got the clinic course done along with the volume magic. In particular, the massage at the Verse Spa shampoo chair in the middle of the long treatment is still on my mind.
