Siznique Shinsegae Department Store Daegu Branch is in Sweet Park, basement level 1 of Shinsegae Department Store Daegu, at 149 Dongbu-ro, Dong-gu, Daegu, South Korea. It's 118m from Exit 2 of Dong Daegu Station. Hours are Sunday 10:30–20:30, Monday–Thursday 10:30–20:00, and Friday–Saturday 10:30–20:30.

Siznique, located inside the Shinsegae Department Store at Dong Daegu Station. After a day out in Daegu, before heading home, I decided to end things sweetly with cake .. 🎂

It's on basement level 1, in Sweet Park. If you spot a cake absolutely loaded with fruit, that's Siznique! They said they 'farm' desserts with seasonal fruit each season 🧑‍🌾 It was near Blue Bottle. I visited around 3pm on a Sunday, and this is how much cake was left.

Which cakes were in the Siznique case that day?

The fruit lineup seems to change with the season, and this time it was peach season! Today they had peach, mango, and fig ready. Number candles were available separately too.

Mango came in three sizes — mini, 1-ho, and Warreu — while peach and mango had mini and Warreu options. There was also a Cream Basque, which has a basque cheesecake layer underneath. I agonized over what to get, but after seeing on Naver that fig would only be available for one month in September, I had to go with it!!! I bought the honey vanilla fig (mini). It was ₩35,000.

Siznique's signature menu item, the Warreu cake. Fruit spilling out between the layers of cream .. it looks so pretty it should photograph really well. All the Warreu cakes are priced at ₩60,000.

The key point is that they really don't hold back on piling fruit on top 💥

How does Siznique package a mini-size cake?

Siznique packages the mini size in a teal box like this. They also put two ice packs inside.

The honey vanilla fig mini: gold flakes and honey on top

Crumble on top, figs piled on, and even gold flakes. The gold flakes sprinkled on top make it look extra luxurious haha. But the fruit condition — is this even real? Now that the weather is cooling down, figs are just coming into season and I'd been craving them, and the fig quality here was so good .. True to its name, honey vanilla, honey is drizzled on top too, and the honey flavor combined with the fig and cream was so good ,,,, 🍯

What does Siznique's milk cream taste like if you don't like cake?

Here's the inside! It's packed with milk cream, and there seems to be a fig jam(?) layer right in the center.

But here's the important part 💥 I'm actually someone who doesn't really like cake because of how greasy the cream usually tastes..? But this milk cream was insane. The milk flavor was genuinely rich and nutty, with zero of that heavy, throat-catching greasiness. Truly a cake that even people who don't like cake could enjoy.

Even though it's the mini size, the center was packed with fig compote. The compote in the middle tasted a bit like dried fig! Eating it together with the fresh fig on top was a really good match.

Is the Siznique fig cake worth 35,000 won?

Fruit aside, the milk cream was truly the highlight!!!!! From the cake's looks to the fruit condition, the cream flavor, and the moist sponge — this was the best-tasting cream cake I've had ••

It also looks great, so it'd be perfect for parents' or friends' birthdays, anniversaries, or any occasion where you'll be taking lots of photos. Also great as a gift .. and above all, it's delicious!! Highly, highly recommend •• Even I, someone who doesn't usually like cake, enjoyed this one, so I can recommend it with even more confidence. The cream was so good that next time I'm in Daegu, I want to try the other fruit cakes too ..! If you're looking for cake in Daegu, go with Siznique 🎂
