Looking for a nice-vibe brunch café in Gwangalli?

I was also on the hunt for a casual brunch spot, so I went to Famous Benny :) From photos I'd assumed it was just a pretty café, but it turned out to be a Gwangalli restaurant where the brunch is genuinely good too~ Let me go through everything from parking to the menu to how it actually tasted!
Where is Famous Benny in Gwangalli, and where can you park?
Famous Benny sits in an alley close to Gwangalli Beach, so it's good to stop by before or after a walk along the water. It opens at 8am, so it also works well if you're starting your day early or checking out of a nearby stay.

🚗 The closest parking is Sea Land parking lot, but it's fairly small, and when I visited there were no spots left. We ended up using Minnak Public Parking Lot, about a 5-minute walk away! Parking costs ₩300 per 10 minutes.
Famous Benny's exterior and the mood on floors 1 and 2

Famous Benny is a two-floor building with outdoor seating too. On a nice day it looks like a great spot to sit outside with a coffee and take it slow haha.

The 1st floor has the ordering area plus seating for brunch. It's not an ocean view straight onto the beach, but the clean space made for a pleasant brunch! The overall mood is modern, so photos came out looking crisp too.

How busy is the 2nd floor at noon on a weekend?
Heading up to the 2nd floor, there's actually more seating! I visited around noon on the weekend and only one seat was left, but by 1pm things had loosened up quite a bit. Timing your visit slightly outside lunch hour seems like the way to get a more relaxed seat.

The mood is cozy and comfortable, so it works fine for a date too! It was also just right for a family brunch during a Gwangalli outing.

On top of that, there are seats with outlets, so it looked like a fine spot for working on a laptop too!

Water, blankets, and tableware are all on hand, and there are baby chairs too, so visiting with kids felt easy and stress-free~
Famous Benny's brunch menu and what we ordered

The lineup of brunch, coffee, and drinks is fairly wide. There's everything from dessert-style bites to more filling meal options, so it was easy to pick based on mood! With 2 adults and 2 kids, we ordered generously.
- French toast ₩17,000
- Garlic butter egg ₩14,000
- Mushroom soup ₩9,000
- Caffè latte ₩6,000
- Strawberry latte ₩5,000
How does brunch at Famous Benny Gwangalli taste?

The food gets brought out to you directly. The moment it landed on the table I couldn't stop taking pictures — it just looked that good! haha

The coffee is made with organic Arabica beans, nutty and fairly bold, and it paired well with the brunch~

Mushroom soup, 9,000 won
The mushroom soup was nice to have alongside everything warm. It had that distinct nutty mushroom depth, and the bread served with it especially stuck in my memory!

Crisp on the outside, soft inside — good on its own, and dipped into the soup it turned moist and worked well together, a solid choice for a morning menu!

Garlic butter egg, 14,000 won
The garlic butter egg — honestly, this was a brunch dish I wasn't familiar with, apparently a Turkish-style poached egg dish! It's built on yogurt, chili garlic butter, and a poached egg, with sourdough, onion chips, and mixed seeds added in.

One bite in, the soft yogurt and poached egg combined with the crunchy onion chips and mixed seeds into a nutty, tangy flavor! It was surprising how many different flavors came through in a single bite — the combination worked well~

If you lean toward tangy and savory over sweet brunch, this one's for you~ With the poached egg included, it also worked as a solid, filling meal.

French toast, 17,000 won
The French toast even came topped with edible flowers, so pretty to look at, right? It comes with croissant, bacon, banana, berry compote, buttered crumble, and mixed seeds.

Soft, moist texture with the sweet-tart banana and berry compote layered on top — the kids ate this one up happily too. If you're after a fruity, sweet brunch, this is worth picking at least once!
Famous Benny Gwangalli with kids: the verdict

Famous Benny, a Gwangalli brunch café, is close enough to the beach that you can eat brunch and take a walk right after. From the French toast to the garlic butter egg to the soup, each dish had its own appeal, so it was easy to pick according to your taste! If you're looking for a Gwangalli restaurant, this one's worth keeping in mind for brunch :)
