Seomyeon galbitang restaurant, spice level 2 and Jeju noodles: Gang
In short
Gang Galbitang Seomyeon is a galbitang (beef short rib soup) restaurant a 7–8 minute walk from Exit 11 of Seomyeon Station in Busanjin, Busan. Over a Sunday lunch at the bar table, the plain galbitang cost 14,000 won and the spicy version 15,000 won, with Jeju jungmyeon noodles added for 2,500 won, and spice level 2 turned out only slightly hotter than Shin Ramyun. The ribs at Gang Galbitang Seomyeon are tender enough to cut with scissors, and the self-bar dried radish makes it a good pick for a solo meal or hangover soup in Seomyeon.

What Gang Galbitang Seomyeon looks like from the street

It's so easy to get to since it's near Seomyeon Station! I visited on a Sunday lunchtime and there were seriously so many people.
Inside Gang Galbitang Seomyeon: is the bar table good for solo diners?

Inside there are 5 tables plus a bar table! It's not huge but it can seat a decent number of people. I sat at the bar table!

So many people! Since it's weekend lunch, everyone seems to come to Gang Galbitang for a health boost haha. This really seems like a true local favorite. Everyone looked like a local resident. A place in the neighborhood that's this busy? Definitely a hidden gem.

Since there's a bar table, a lot of people eat alone too. It really seems perfect for solo dining!

There are photos posted inside the restaurant, so it was easy to pick what to order haha. You can order at the kiosk or directly with staff!

They say they carefully simmer the soup every morning. No wonder it tastes even better with all that effort.

Every table has water, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Also, the red seasoning (dadaegi) is in the fridge, so grab it if you need it.
Self-bar dried radish and free coffee after the meal

They give basic side dishes, and you can get extras from the self-bar. The dried radish isn't served automatically at first, so make sure to get it from the self-bar!! It's seriously so good haha, it goes perfectly with galbitang. The kkakdugi (radish kimchi) and other side dishes are all delicious too.

They even provide Maxim coffee and brewed americano! Such a thoughtful owner 👍
Hand cream for a Naver receipt review

If you write a Naver receipt review, you get a hand cream, so definitely take part haha. It's such a great deal. Fall and winter are coming, and that's exactly when hands get dry. I took part in the event too and got my hand cream.
Gang Galbitang Seomyeon menu and prices

We ordered Gang Galbitang (₩14,000), Spicy Gang Galbitang (₩15,000) at level 2, and added Jeju medium noodles (₩2,500)!
The plain galbitang, 14,000 won: ribs that cut with scissors
Considering how crowded it was, the food came out pretty fast. Served like a full set meal, it looked hearty and neat. The galbitang is huge!! Haha.

This is the regular galbitang, and it's really generous. The clear broth was so rich and delicious. Pepper is essential haha! There's a lot of big meat pieces inside too. I was surprised by how tender the meat was.

You cut the meat with scissors, and it cuts so easily!! This is the best galbitang I've ever had in my life. The meat is also the most tender I've had.

There's a lot of meat, and a good amount of glass noodles come standard too! Eating it with a bowl of rice makes you super full.

Spicy galbitang at level 2 and Jeju jungmyeon noodles for 2,500 won
This is the spicy galbitang with added noodles! Whenever I go to Jeju, I always eat gogi-guksu (meat noodle soup), and I ate this with the same feeling haha. It felt a bit more like real noodles compared to somyeon (thin wheat noodles), and it went really well with the spicy galbitang broth.

They give you a lot of noodles haha, great value. I chose spice level 2! It was just right. It's a bit spicier than Shin Ramyun... more like Yeul Ramyun or Shin Ramyun The Red. There are levels 1, 2, 3, and even though I can handle spicy food well, level 2 felt like enough.

The spicy broth, wow, it clears you right up. It seems perfect for a hangover cure. How about drinking in Seomyeon and then having galbitang to recover haha?

The sweet and tangy dipping sauce for the meat goes so well haha. The sauce is seriously delicious too.

Finished it all!! The portion was big but it was so good I ate everything. Still, since it's a healthy Korean galbitang, I felt full but it also digested well. My stomach wasn't uncomfortable at all — a really satisfying meal.
Is Gang Galbitang Seomyeon worth it for galbitang or gukbap in Seomyeon?
If you're looking for galbitang or gukbap (rice soup) in Seomyeon, Busan, I highly recommend Gang Galbitang!! It was so good I think I'll go back again soon 😊 They also sell galbitang on Naver Store!
