Seongsu burger restaurant for a birthday catch-up: bd Burger

Going for handmade burgers at Seongsu Station with friends of 28 years

It was a day to see my friends of 28 years for the first time in ages! It was also one of my two friends’ birthdays, so we got together to celebrate and catch up!! It had been seriously forever since all three of us were together, and I wanted to chat chat chat~~~~~ We all agreed, “First, food!” and then, “We want handmade burgers!” hahaha. So I looked up great burger spots near Seongsu Station, saw these ridiculously delicious-looking burgers, and off we went to bd Burger Seongsu!

I turned on Naver Map and it was easy to find! It’s super close to Seongsu Station Exit 3~!

Vintage interiors and a self-service setup

The vintage interior has a cool, hip feel. Most of the tables seat two or three, and there is only one table for four, so it seemed a bit tight for a larger group. Perfect for two or three people!!! If you’re visiting with three or more, I recommend going after 1 p.m. Every table has a table-ordering device, so ordering is easy!

When your food is ready at the pickup zone by the entrance, you bring it back to your table yourself.

Here’s the self-service bar. You can refill your drinks here!! There are wet wipes, napkins, Tabasco sauce (?), ketchup, sauce cups, small plates, forks, straws, disposable plastic gloves, water, and cups.

Grilled Shrimp Avocado and Wasabi Shrimp

The bd GRILLED SHRIMP AVOCADO is a spicy yet light signature handmade shrimp burger pairing whole flame-grilled shrimp with avocado. Friend No. 1 ordered it, and said the shrimp had that smoky grilled flavor, went so well with avocado, and was one of the best shrimp burgers she’d ever had haha.

[BIG SIZE] WASABI SHRIMP is bd’s revamped signature shrimp burger in a big size, with mellow wasabi sauce, shrimp, and mustard greens. Apparently it was featured on Live Today as a “plump wasabi shrimp burger.” This was my Wasabi Shrimp. The shrimp patty inside... insane. It has whole shrimp in it, so the texture is amazing. I’m a Lotteria shrimp-burger fanatic, but this place was seriously crazy good… no comparison.

Double Cheese Burger and eggplant and mushroom fritters

The DOUBLE CHEESE BURGER is a juicy beef burger with two substantial patties and cheese. Friend No. 2 had it! She said it was tasty but didn’t taste very cheesy haha. So I told her it wasn’t packed with extra cheese—it was the patty that was doubled—and she agreed hahaha. The patties were juicy!!!

EGGPLANT & MUSHROOM is crispy yet moist fried eggplant and whole button mushrooms full of mushroom aroma. You get three eggplant pieces plus three mushrooms, with chipotle and ranch sauces! Friend No. 1 and I totally fell for these eggplant and mushroom fritters. That sauce combination did a lot of the work. Friend No. 2 was like, hahaha, “This place is all about the sauces.”

ORIGINAL FRIES are salty shoestring fries. The regular fries were nicely salty. But they got overshadowed by the butter garlic fries, so I just dipped them in the butter garlic sauce hahaha.

BUTTER GARLIC FRIES are salty fries topped with a thick, rich butter sauce full of garlic aroma. These were seriously sooo good,, and since I love thick, creamy sauces, I fell in love. I love it when places give you tons of sauce, so I was happy. The flavor was unreal too.. my new all-time favorite fries. We even got a group photo hahaha. I love all the colors.. ෆ

What to know before you visit

They’re open daily from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., with last orders at 8:30 p.m. They are open as usual even on the actual day of major holidays! Takeout, delivery, and reservations are available, along with Wi-Fi, a waiting area, group use, and high chairs. Pets and corkage are not allowed. There’s no parking, so use public transit!

The in-store Wi-Fi details are attached to each table-ordering stand(?)!!! There’s a weekday lunch discount from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.!! And if you do a photo-review event on Naver or Google, you get free corn salad!!!!

This is easily in my top three handmade burgers I’ve ever eaten.

Even as I write this, I want to eat it again and go back.. The burgers were great, of course, but the sides were so ridiculously delicious that “insane” is the only word for them🫢 Next time I need to try different menu items!!!
