One minute from Yeongchang Station Exit 3, a Mokdong pub made for pizza and beer
After work I found myself craving good pizza and a cold beer, so I headed to Eopija near Yeongchang Station. It's a Yeongchang-dong spot that's genuinely easy to find — only about a minute's walk from Exit 3. I tend to prefer places close to a station, and being this close to an exit makes it a great meeting spot too.

Walking into this Yeongchang Station spot, the place was bigger than I expected and had a stylish overall vibe. Eopija isn't the kind of place you just grab a quick pizza and leave — it's a Mokdong pub where you can enjoy food and drinks together. As a pizza pub offering draft beer, highballs, whiskey, wine, soju, and bottled beer alongside the pizza, it was a great spot for a casual drink. It suits both people hunting for good food in Yeongchang-dong and those who just want a light beer after work.

Eopija, a Mokdong pizza spot with a wide range of menu choices
Looking over the pizza pub's menu, the variety of pizzas was quite impressive. From real cheese, classic pepperoni, bulgogi, spicy bulgogi, sweet corn cheese, sweet potato, potato, gorgonzola, bacon, Hawaiian, Johnsonville sausage, to combination — there was something for every taste.

What I especially liked was being able to choose between half and whole pies, and ordering a two-flavor or four-flavor pizza. When a group visits and everyone wants something different, picking just one pizza can be tricky — being able to enjoy several flavors at once seemed perfect for gatherings or group dinners.
There were also set menus like the pizza-and-beer set and the liver-and-beer set for good value, and beyond the Mokdong pizzas there was a wide range of sides — tteokbokki (stir-fried rice cakes), gambas, buffalo wings, oven spaghetti, Cajun potatoes, and nachos. It's a great lineup if you like to pair your pizza with a bit of everything.

Trying Set A in four flavors at this Yeongchang Station pizza pub
This time I ordered the Set A four-flavor version. I picked classic pepperoni, sweet potato, potato, and Johnsonville sausage for the pizza, and oven spaghetti for the side.

Before the Mokdong pizza arrived, they brought out a cracker-style appetizer they call 'pizza time,' which felt like a nice little touch. It was easy to snack on while waiting, and the cute name got a laugh out of me. The self bar had not just water but parmesan cheese and hot sauce, plus mouthwash, floss, and even blankets. It felt less like just serving food and more like they'd thought carefully about making guests comfortable.

When the Mokdong pizza finally arrived, the toppings were as generous as they look in the photo. Cheese was piled on evenly across the whole pie, so the first thing I noticed when I lifted a slice was the savory cheese aroma, and the crust edges were baked golden, promising a crisp bite.

Classic pepperoni
First, the classic pepperoni delivered the most fundamental pizza flavor you'd expect. The salty savor of the pepperoni paired well with the rich, savory cheese, and the crisply baked crust gave it structure underneath. The pepperoni's saltiness met the cold draft beer in a way that cleaned the palate right up. Anyone who loves pizza and beer together would be satisfied with this combo.

Sweet potato
The sweet potato pizza was, true to its name, striking for its sweet and mild flavor. The gentle sweetness of the sweet potato blended with the savory cheese for an overall soft, comforting taste. Going from the salty pepperoni to this sweet potato flavor was a real shift in mood, which made me glad we'd ordered the four-flavor version.

Potato
The potato pizza had an appealingly plain but savory flavor. The fluffy texture of the potato blended with the cheese without being too heavy, so I kept reaching for more. Eaten with beer especially, the potato's mildness really brought out the beer's refreshing quality — personally, I thought this was the pizza that paired best with beer.

Johnsonville sausage
Last was the Johnsonville sausage pizza, which had the richest flavor of the four. The chunky sausage gave off a salty, juicy taste, and paired with the cheese it added even more savoriness. The subtle heat of jalapeños also helped cut through the richness, which I appreciated. If you like bold flavors, I'd especially recommend the Johnsonville sausage pizza.

The oven spaghetti and Hoegaarden draft combo
The oven spaghetti I ordered as a side also paired well with the pizza. The tangy, savory tomato sauce melted together with the cheese for a soft, rich flavor. Alternating between pizza and spaghetti kept the meal from feeling repetitive, and it seemed like a good side to share among several people.

And of course, the Hoegaarden draft that was the centerpiece of this pizza-and-beer session. Poured cold into a glass, it felt like it cleanly rinsed away the salty, savory pizza flavors. It was especially noticeable with the richer pizzas like pepperoni or Johnsonville sausage — the beer's crispness stood out more. That moment of a bite of pizza followed by a sip of cold draft was pretty satisfying.
Eopija also has Asahi, Heineken, Cass, IPA, dark beer, Kirin, and Stella Artois on draft, among others, so I'd like to try different beers next time. With such a wide range of both pizzas and draft beers, this Mokdong pub is a great place for a proper pizza-and-beer session.

A versatile spot for solo drinks, dates, and group dinners in Mokdong
One of the strengths of this Yeongchang Station spot is how flexible it is depending on why you're visiting. Going alone for a pizza slice and a draft beer works fine, and sharing several flavors of pizza with a partner makes for a nice date too.
The seating is spacious and it can accommodate groups, so it also seems like a good option for friend gatherings or company dinners. Reportedly able to seat up to 47 people, it looks handy for group bookings or dinner parties too.
Don't miss the ₩10,000 happy hour and the review event
Eopija also runs a happy hour every day from 4pm to 8pm. True to its name — ₩10,000 for happiness — it's ₩10,000 for one menu item plus a glass of imported draft beer.
You can choose from Cajun potatoes, a pizza slice, oven spaghetti, or nachos, which seems like a solid option if you want a light meal-and-beer combo after work.

There's also a Naver receipt review event offering perks like a free pizza slice, a side dish, or 1+1 cocktails, so it's worth checking that out if you visit.

A Yeongchang-dong spot worth returning to whenever Mokdong pizza comes to mind
Overall, what stood out most about Eopija was being able to enjoy not just great pizza but a wide range of menu items, drinks, and a comfortable atmosphere all together. Ordering the four-flavor version in particular meant tasting a variety of pizzas in one sitting, which made the visit especially satisfying with a group.
It's easy to get to since it's close to Yeongchang Station, and it's a Mokdong pub that works for solo drinks, dates, friend gatherings, and group dinners alike.

Pizza and draft beer are a combo that feels even better as the crisp autumn weather sets in. On days you want a light beer, use it for a solo drink in Mokdong; on days a group gathers, order multiple pizza flavors to share — either way, I'd recommend giving this Yeongchang Station spot, Eopija, a try.
