I always have to eat sashimi when I go to Jeju haha. I stopped by Dutumhoe Dongmun Market Main Branch to pack food to eat by the sea.
Where is Dutumhoe inside Dongmun Market?

Dutumhoe Dongmun Market Main Branch is located inside the night market at Gate 8 of Dongmun Market.

The blue sign is easy to spot, and with sashimi and sushi lined up on display, it wasn't hard to find at all.

The takeout menu was so varied that I could pick sashimi, sushi, and tempura all in one place without hopping between stores.

Dutum Signature platter: 40,000 won with generous flatfish fin
The first thing I chose was the Dutum Signature (₩40,000), which lets you try a variety of sashimi together.

Even in photos, the sashimi looked glossy and the overall composition looked generous. Eating it, the sashimi was firm and chewy, giving a proper bite.

I especially loved that my platter came with more flatfish fin sashimi than I expected — my favorite part.

The chewy texture and nutty flavor unique to flatfish fin lingered in my mouth, so it's what I kept reaching for most out of the whole platter.

If a full assorted platter feels like too much, there's also flatfish and salmon sashimi (₩25,000) and salmon sashimi (₩25,000)!
What sushi does Dutumhoe offer?

Besides futomaki, the shop had a variety of sushi on display. There's also mackerel pressed sushi (₩15,000) — you get to eat mackerel sashimi or dishes pretty often when you're in Jeju, it seems!

There's also assorted sushi (₩10,000), which seems good for a simple meal! Haha, though I can never keep it simple...

Original futomaki packed full of filling

One thing I really want to recommend eating alongside your sashimi at Dutumhoe is the futomaki.

Looking at the cross-section, the filling stood out even more than the rice — it was that packed.

Each piece was pretty big for one bite, but taking a big bite let all the different flavors come through at once, which made it even tastier.
Crispy shrimp tempura, packed to go as well

After ordering the sashimi and futomaki, the shrimp tempura on display looked so good that I packed that too.

Inside the crispy batter was a plump shrimp, good for picking up one at a time like a snack.
Adding the warm, crispy tempura in between bites of sashimi and futomaki changed up the texture and made the whole meal feel even more filling.
Eating the sashimi takeout by the Jeju sea
I took my packed food and moved to a spot with a sea view.

Laying out the sashimi platter, futomaki, and shrimp tempura all at once with the Jeju sea in front of me made for quite a spread.

Pairing the firm, chewy sashimi with the packed futomaki, and snacking on shrimp tempura in between, made me think I'd picked a great combination of menu items.

Eating at a sit-down sashimi restaurant is nice too, but packing exactly what you want from Dongmun Market and eating it while looking out at the Jeju sea was a joy you can only have while traveling.

I was especially satisfied with how much flatfish fin was in the platter, and the futomaki was delicious with its generous filling too.
If you're looking for a place to get sashimi takeout at Jeju's Dongmun Market, or want to prepare sashimi, futomaki, and tempura all at once,

it might be worth stopping by Dutumhoe Dongmun Market Main Branch :)
