Wirye shabu-shabu with a baby and Changgokcheon window seat: Dadam
In short
Dadam Shabu Shabu & Wolnamssam Wirye Branch is an all-you-can-eat beef and vegetable shabu-shabu restaurant on the 3rd floor of G&G Plaza by Namwirye Station in Seongnam, Gyeonggi. Visiting with an 11-month-old baby, the writer was given a baby chair and a window seat looking out over Changgokcheon stream, then ate through clear and seafood broths with beef chuck and beef belly, self-bar vegetables, Vietnamese rice paper wraps and kalguksu noodles. Because Dadam covers everything from shabu-shabu to dessert ice cream in one sitting, it takes the guesswork out of a family meal out.

Today I went to Dadam Shabu Shabu & Wolnamssam Wirye Branch near Namwirye Station. I've always liked shabu-shabu, and since this place lets you enjoy meat and vegetables along with Vietnamese wraps (wolnamssam), I was excited to visit.

How to get to Dadam from Namwirye Station, and where to park
Dadam Shabu Shabu & Wolnamssam Wirye Branch is on the 3rd floor of G&G Plaza, so it's easy to find even from Namwirye Station. You can use the building's parking lot, and parking assistance is available with a meal, so it wasn't a hassle to come by car.

Inside Dadam: a wide, clean dining room and window seats over Changgokcheon

Walking in, the space was bigger than I expected and the tables had plenty of room between them, which made it feel good for family meals or gatherings. The window seats especially looked out over Changgokcheon stream, so we could enjoy the view while eating.
When eating out with a baby, cramped spaces or tightly packed tables can be a bit stressful, but the overall atmosphere here was comfortable enough to relax. We visited with our 11-month-old, and they set up a baby chair for us.
🥬 How much can you take from the Dadam self-bar?

The biggest draw of Dadam Shabu Shabu is definitely the all-you-can-eat setup. There was a wide range of ingredients ready to go into the pot — vegetables, mushrooms, rice cakes, dumplings, fish cakes, and more.
Ingredients for the Vietnamese wraps were also laid out separately, so you can pick and choose based on your taste. I usually eat about as many vegetables as meat when having shabu-shabu, so being able to bring over a little of whatever I wanted was great for trying lots of different things.
🥩 Beef chuck and beef belly, refilled as often as you like

Beef, an essential part of shabu-shabu, is also all-you-can-eat here. You can choose between beef chuck and beef belly — we started by trying a little of each, then went back for more of whichever we liked better.
Shabu-shabu, where you cook meat and vegetables right in the broth, felt like a warm but light meal — satisfying without being heavy.

There was also a corner for making your own porridge. After eating enough shabu-shabu, you can add rice and ingredients to the leftover broth to make porridge yourself, so the meal ended on a full note. From shabu-shabu to Vietnamese wraps, kalguksu, and porridge, it was a pretty substantial spread for one meal.
Clear broth or seafood broth, and how to build your self-bar bowl
We decided on clear broth and seafood broth.

For shabu-shabu ingredients, you just grab whatever you want from the self-bar. There were so many kinds — vegetables, mushrooms, rice cakes, dumplings, fish cakes — that I spent a while just deciding what to put on my plate, haha. I ended up picking out the ones I wanted one by one and bringing them back to the table.
With shabu-shabu, you can bring back as much of any ingredient as you like and drop it straight into the broth, so it was nice being able to pile on plenty of my favorite vegetables.

Rather than grabbing a huge amount all at once, it worked better to bring a little at a time, try it, and go back for more of whatever ran low. Watching each ingredient go in and bubble away in the pot looked appetizing on its own.
🌯 Vietnamese rice paper wraps at the same table

What I liked about Dadam Shabu Shabu is that you get Vietnamese wraps (wolnamssam) on top of the shabu-shabu itself. Just dip the rice paper briefly in warm water, then roll it up with whatever vegetables and meat you like.

Rolling meat and vegetables together gave a nice variety of textures, and dipping it in sauce brought out a completely different flavor, so it was good to alternate between the wraps and the shabu-shabu. Switching to wraps between rounds of shabu-shabu kept things from getting repetitive all the way to the end.
🍜 Finishing with kalguksu noodles and porridge

Once you've had your fill of shabu-shabu, the finishing menu is a must. Adding kalguksu noodles to the leftover broth, then finally making porridge, rounds off the meal properly. Today we'd eaten so much meat and vegetables that we stopped after the kalguksu. T.T
☕ Coffee and ice cream dessert without leaving your seat

After the meal, we could also get coffee and ice cream for dessert. It was convenient not having to go find a café right after shabu-shabu, since dessert was handled right there in the restaurant. You could even add espresso to the ice cream for an affogato, which was a nice sweet way to close out the meal. I kept it simple with a cone of ice cream!

Besides eating in, takeout is also available, so it looked like a good option for enjoying shabu-shabu at home too. It was nice knowing you could get it to go on days when eating out isn't easy, or when you just want to eat comfortably at home.
Is Dadam worth it for a meal near Namwirye Station?
Dadam Shabu Shabu & Wolnamssam Wirye Branch lets you eat unlimited beef and vegetables and enjoy Vietnamese wraps alongside it, making it a good place to visit with several people. Best of all, shabu-shabu, wraps, kalguksu, porridge, and dessert are all available in one place, so there's no need to worry about ordering somewhere else afterward.
If you're looking for a family dinner or gathering spot near Namwirye Station, this is worth checking out as a local favorite. If you enjoy both shabu-shabu and Vietnamese wraps, it's worth keeping in mind when searching for a good shabu-shabu place in Wirye.
