Gangnam Station dakgalbi restaurant with soju for two: Dakgalbijeon

In short

Dakgalbijeon Gangnam Branch is a dakgalbi (spicy stir-fried chicken) restaurant between Gangnam Station and Sinnonhyeon Station in Seocho, Seoul. The signature Gamssachidak set for two costs 40,000 won, and the cheese dakgalbi wrapped in the perilla leaf potato pancake, with a jjolmyeon noodle add-on, went well with soju. Two people had so much food they never got to the fried rice, which made the set feel like good value.

Ordering the set gets you an even better deal!

What comes in the 40,000 won Gamssachidak set for two, plus the jjolmyeon add-on

Gamssachidak set for two with cheese dakgalbi and perilla leaf potato pancake

We ordered the signature combo here, Gamssachidak for two at 40,000 won! It's a set menu where you can enjoy cheese dakgalbi and potato pancake together. Cheese dakgalbi is delicious on its own, and potato pancake is delicious on its own too — put them together and how could that possibly go wrong?

Cheese dakgalbi served fully cooked on the hot plate

The dakgalbi comes fully cooked already, so you can dig in right away! Noodle add-ons can only be added when you first order, so we added a jjolmyeon (chewy cold noodles) noodle add-on too.

Dakgalbi with cheese stretching out is always the right call. Just looking at it screams delicious~~

A stretch of melted cheese on a piece of cheese dakgalbi

The dakgalbi was really tender with no gamey smell at all! It was spicy in a good way — even people who can't handle spice much could probably handle it — and the sauce had such deep savory flavor that I kept eating more and more, haha!

There was plenty of cabbage and perilla leaves in there too, which was nice.

Jjolmyeon noodles mixed into the dakgalbi sauce

The jjolmyeon noodle add-on is a must with that delicious dakgalbi sauce. The noodles soaked up all the sauce and it was genuinely so good. You can choose from various add-ons like cheese rice cake, rice cake, sweet potato, jjolmyeon, udon noodles, ramen and more, so add whatever suits your taste!

Perilla leaf potato pancake made fresh to order

The perilla leaf potato pancake, grated fresh the moment you order

This perilla leaf potato pancake is genuinely delicious. They grate fresh raw potato the instant you order it, and it went really well with the dakgalbi!

Golden-brown cross-section of the potato pancake

Can you see how crispy and golden this looks? Crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside — this potato pancake kept my hand reaching back for more even on its own.

A bite of cheese dakgalbi piled onto potato pancake
The Gamssachidak combo of dakgalbi wrapped in potato pancake

Here's the kicker of this Gangnam Station restaurant — piling dakgalbi onto the potato pancake and eating it in one bite! The mildly spicy dakgalbi gets wrapped up completely by the mild, chewy potato pancake, and honestly, that combo was so good.

You've got to pair delicious food with soju

Is the Gamssachidak set enough food for two, and is it good value?

A great value visit near Gangnam Station. I went looking for a good restaurant around Gangnam Station and the dakgalbi-and-potato-pancake combo worked way better together than I expected — I ate really well! Sharing the set between two of us meant the portion was generous, and getting to enjoy both the tasty dakgalbi and crispy potato pancake together made for satisfying value near Gangnam Station!

We had planned to order fried rice too, but got so full we just couldn't fit it in — almost a shame. Next time I'll have to go back and properly get the fried rice too~~ If you're looking for good value near Gangnam Station, this combo of wrapping dakgalbi in potato pancake is definitely worth trying!
