Wirye shabu-shabu Sunday lunch with sujebi, mandu and kalguksu: Dadam
In short
Dadam Shabu Shabu & Wolnamssam Wirye Branch is an all-you-can-eat shabu-shabu and Vietnamese wrap restaurant on the 3rd floor of G&G Plaza near Namwirye Station in Seongnam, Gyeonggi. On a Sunday at noon, a party of three including the writer's parents ordered the broth half clear and half spicy, piled in a mound of minari, worked through beef brisket and beef neck, then closed the meal with sujebi (hand-torn dough soup), mandu (dumplings) and kalguksu (knife-cut noodles). With 3 hours of parking support and plenty of four-seat tables, Dadam Shabu Shabu makes an easy weekend family lunch.

Why shabu-shabu won the Sunday lunch debate with the parents
When I meet my parents for weekend lunch, picking the menu is always weirdly hard. Our family all loves eating, so we want something good, but greasy or spicy food feels like a bit much for a weekend lunch. It seems like a small thing, but choosing a meal together as a family is somehow always the trickiest part.
That day, my mom said she wanted shabu-shabu, so we settled on that for our family outing after a long while. Shabu-shabu actually works pretty well with parents — everyone can pick their own vegetables, eat as much meat as they want, and choose the broth they like. So this time we went to Dadam Shabu Shabu & Wolnamssam Wirye Branch.
Having gone in person, I think it was a pretty solid choice for a weekend lunch with parents. Being able to eat wolnamssam (Vietnamese rice paper wraps) alongside the shabu-shabu meant we got to enjoy a lot of variety in one meal.

Parking at Dadam Shabu Shabu: 3 hours supported in the G&G Plaza lot
Parking was easy even with a car. You just park in the designated building lot, and if you tell the staff your license plate, they'll cover 3 hours of parking.
Since I went for a relaxed weekend lunch with my parents, I really liked that the parking time was generous. Time flies faster than you think during a meal — especially with parents, when you're eating slowly and chatting — so not having to constantly watch the clock was great. With about 120 minutes of meal time available, this felt like a good spot for a family weekend outing.
Sunday noon at Dadam Shabu Shabu: wait time and the 3rd-floor dining room
Dadam Shabu Shabu & Wolnamssam Wirye Branch is on the 3rd floor of the G&G Plaza. On the Sunday at noon when I visited, we thankfully got in without any wait. There's a table tennis hall right next to the restaurant, and it was packed that day.
Before visiting, I'd read other blog reviews saying there could be a wait on weekends, so I braced myself — but of course, waiting time can vary by day and time, so take that as just a reference. The restaurant itself wasn't huge, but it was a reasonable size.

Most tables were 4-seaters, so it seemed good for a family of four. If five or more people came at once, they might have to split across tables. Still, the vibe wasn't chaotic or crowded — it felt clean and comfortable for a meal.
What the three bowls on each table are for
When we sat down at Dadam Shabu Shabu & Wolnamssam Wirye Branch, various bowls were already set out, and I was wondering how to use them when a staff member kindly explained everything. The big black bowl is for shabu-shabu ingredients, the black plate is for meat, and the white plate is for wolnamssam ingredients.
Having it explained so clearly from the start made things easy, and each of us grabbed a bowl and headed to the self-bar. I was in charge of shabu-shabu ingredients, my mom handled the meat, and my dad took care of the wolnamssam ingredients. Splitting up the roles like that was surprisingly fun and made everything come together fast.

One thing I really liked was being able to choose the broth right at the table using the POS terminal at each table. After some deliberation, we chose half clear, half spicy. I love both clear and spicy broth for shabu-shabu, so being able to have both at once was great. Some other tables were eating only clear or only spicy broth.
When you're eating with parents, tastes can differ, so being able to choose two flavors at once meant everyone could eat what they liked. Also, while we were bringing back ingredients from the self-bar, the broth was already prepped, so as soon as we got back to the table we could turn on the burner and start cooking right away.

What's on the self-bar: minari, vegetables and Vietnamese wrap fixings
Some all-you-can-eat shabu-shabu places load up on side dishes too — fried food, fried rice, all kinds of extras. But Dadam Shabu Shabu & Wolnamssam Wirye Branch felt more understated and focused.

I actually liked that it centered on shabu-shabu and wolnamssam. When there's too much food, you end up grabbing a bit of everything and never properly enjoy the main dish, but here we could just focus on shabu-shabu and wolnamssam. You could take as much wolnamssam ingredients as you wanted, too.

There was also a fairly wide variety of vegetables for the shabu-shabu.

This part I filled completely to my own taste, because I love minari (water dropwort) so much that I piled it on. When minari goes into shabu-shabu, the aroma really comes alive and it's so good. So that day too, I brought back a huge pile of minari — enough that anyone watching might've thought I came here just for the minari. But once I dropped it into the broth and cooked it briefly, the fragrant flavor blended so well with the soup that I was glad I brought so much.
Two cuts of beef, brisket and neck, refilled on the spot
The meat at Dadam Shabu Shabu & Wolnamssam Wirye Branch came in two kinds: beef brisket and beef neck.

I like both, so I alternated between the two, but my mom prefers leaner, less fatty meat, so she mostly ate the beef neck.

Being able to choose meat by taste like this is one of the perks of shabu-shabu. The meat was so good that day, I lost count of how many times we went back for refills. At all-you-can-eat places, you sometimes have to wait a while when a popular ingredient runs out, but that day the staff kept the freezer stocked without a single gap, so it was easy to keep eating comfortably.
My parents said the meat was delicious, which made me, the one who'd found the place, pretty happy too. When you're taking your parents out to eat, it's important that the food is good, but what matters most is that they enjoy it!
"Mom, this is good, right?" / "Yeah, the meat's decent."
Hearing that one line made me feel like I'd picked the right place.
Rolling wolnamssam (Vietnamese rice paper wraps) at the table
We didn't just eat the shabu-shabu ingredients — we also made wolnamssam properly, piling desired ingredients and meat onto rice paper and rolling it up. It's a different kind of fun from shabu-shabu.

I tend to load a lot of meat into my wolnamssam, and that day too, I mixed in vegetables I wanted from the shabu-shabu with the wolnamssam ingredients, in decent proportions.

Eating meat non-stop can feel a bit heavy, but adding vegetables made it feel much lighter. That made it a good fit for eating with parents too. If you're looking for a menu with meat and vegetables together rather than something too greasy for a weekend family meal, Wirye shabu-shabu could be a good choice.
The finish: ramyeon noodles, sujebi, mandu and kalguksu (porridge skipped)
Once you've eaten a good amount of shabu-shabu, another kind of fun begins — throwing extras into the broth.

Instant ramen noodles were available too, and that day we added sujebi (hand-torn dough soup), mandu (dumplings), and even kalguksu (knife-cut noodles). After eating plenty of vegetables and meat, filling up the remaining space with noodles and dumplings was really satisfying. There was actually a station set up so you could make porridge yourself, but—

by that point we were already way too full. Shabu-shabu, wolnamssam, endless meat refills, sujebi, mandu, and kalguksu... adding porridge on top of all that would've felt like our stomachs would burst, so reluctantly, we skipped the porridge. Next time, I want to pace myself from the start so I can get to the porridge at the end too.
Dessert coffee and ice cream, and the one letdown: no soft drinks
After finishing the meal, we checked out the desserts — there was ice cream, and coffee too.

Rather than leaving right after the meal, it was nice to be able to wrap things up with a cup of coffee or some ice cream. But one thing I missed was a soda station — a Coke would have been perfect to settle everything down. That was the only letdown. Meeting parents on the weekend, eating, chatting, and finishing with dessert — it might sound like nothing special, but it's exactly this kind of time I really enjoy.
Verdict on Dadam Shabu Shabu & Wolnamssam Wirye Branch
What I liked most was that the menu wasn't too heavy to eat with parents. You can pick as many vegetables as you want, choose meat between beef brisket and beef neck by preference, and enjoy wolnamssam on top of it all, so it felt more varied than sticking to just one dish.
Personally, the shabu-shabu piled with minari is what stuck with me most. My mom ate her fill of the lean beef neck, and my dad made his own wolnamssam wraps from ingredients he brought back himself. It was nice that all three of us could eat in our own way, and after having plenty of meat and vegetables, finishing with sujebi, mandu, and kalguksu left us completely full.
When eating with parents, tastes can differ, but being able to enjoy two broths at once meant we could each eat to our own liking — so the next time we have another family meal planned, I think this place will come to mind again. It seems like a good option especially when you want a healthy, filling meal nearby with family.
If you're weighing weekend lunch options with your parents like we were, Dadam Shabu Shabu & Wolnamssam Wirye Branch is worth considering. If you're looking for restaurants near Namwirye Station, Wirye shabu-shabu spots, or a Wirye restaurant to visit with parents or family, this one is worth checking out. We left that day completely full, and above all, it felt good to have eaten a healthy, satisfying meal with my parents.
