Nowon hair salon mint brown full dye that cancels red tones: Yeum Hair

In short

Yeum Hair Nowon District Office branch is a bright hair salon near Nowon Station and Lotte Department Store in Nowon, Seoul, occupying a whole floor to itself. A planned root touch-up turned into a full ash brown dye with a mint secondary tone, because the lower lengths had faded and pulled red; even with more than 2cm of new growth, Yeum Hair left the color even and calm. A photo studio directly outside made it easy to get ID photos taken right after the dye.

How to get to Yeum Hair Nowon District Office, and where to park

Yeum Hair Nowon District Office is on the 2nd floor, Unit 201, of the building at 447 Nohae-ro, Nowon-gu, Seoul — the same building as the Starbucks Nowon District Office branch. The building's basement parking only covers 30 minutes and spaces are tight, so I parked at the Nowon District Office paid lot (₩250 per 5 minutes) and walked over.

Walking to the salon after parking at Nowon District Office

There is basement parking in the salon building itself. But since it's tight and only covers 30 minutes, here's the walk from parking at Nowon District Office instead! It's ₩250 per 5 minutes there (no separate parking discount, sadly ㅠ_ㅠ Since it's close to the station, public transit is probably the easier option).

It's easy to find since it's in the building with the Starbucks Nowon District Office branch.

Street view near Nowon Station and Lotte Department Store

The salon is close to both the station and Lotte Department Store, so accessibility was great.

"Yeum Hair" means something like a space where waves of art bloom into hair design. A fixed price list was posted right at the shop entrance, which felt trustworthy.

What the waiting area and salon floor are like

Yeum Hair Nowon District Office branch has the whole 2nd floor of the building to itself, so it's spacious inside, and the light coming in makes it feel bright. I had my design consultation on a sofa in the waiting area while enjoying a drink and snack.

A bright shop with great light, giving off a fresh, clean, green feel

Spacious interior taking up a whole floor

The inside was so spacious since they use a whole floor by themselves!

Getting your hair done while looking at a lush green view really puts you in a good mood 🫧🍀

Private restroom used only by the salon

Having a private restroom just for the salon was also a nice touch.

Drink and snack served during the consultation

I had my design consultation over a drink and a snack. Designer Jiyoon looked over my hair condition carefully and talked me through it, which felt really reassuring. Everyone there had such a friendly vibe!!

Before: why a root touch-up became a full dye

I originally went to Yeum Hair Nowon District Office just for a root touch-up, but once I took a photo I saw the lower half had lightened and faded a lot, so I switched to a full dye. Since my hair falls between shoulder and chest length, there was a +₩40,000 length surcharge.

Hair condition before the dye, showing fading

There was a +₩40,000 length surcharge for shoulder-to-chest length hair. I'd only planned on a root touch-up, but once I saw the photos, the lower part had lightened and faded a lot, so I decided to do a full dye instead. My red tones were coming through pretty strongly, so we decided on ash brown with a mint undertone.

After: how the mint brown ash brown dye turned out

With the mint-undertone ash brown dye, the red tones were tamed and it looked much calmer overall. Even with roots grown out more than 2cm and a lot of fading in the lower hair, the full dye came out clean and even with no patchiness.

Hair right after the mint brown ash brown full dye

The mint brown ash brown dye tamed the red tones and made everything so much calmer!!! And the scalp massage and shampoo in the wash room were amazing... totally satisfied... felt like I experienced paradise and got healed 🥹👍🏻👍🏻 (I lost count of how many times I said thank you,,,)

My roots had grown out more than 2cm and the lower hair had faded a lot, but it still came out an even, clean full dye, right?

Finished style after blow-dry

When I mentioned I was going to get ID photos taken, she blow-dried it extra carefully and even showed me how to fix my hair for the photo. All the staff were so friendly that I could relax through the whole service 🖤

ID photos at the studio right outside the salon

After finishing the dye at Yeum Hair Nowon District Office, I walked straight to the studio right outside to get ID photos taken. The original files plus 8 prints came to ₩25,000 — having it so close was the best part.

Got my hair done, then came straight to the studio right outside for ID photos haha. Having it that close is the best.

First off, the price was great, and the editing was fast and natural-looking, with 1:1 touch-ups wherever I wanted. Got the original files plus 8 prints for ₩25,000 — pretty good deal.

Mission complete — dye done, ID photos done. Took these straight off to renew my license.

How the mint brown color looks 3 days later

This is a photo taken 3 days after the mint brown dye service. I'd heard the color turns out even prettier after 3 days, and I was looking forward to it — it turned out to be the perfect tone-down for fall.

Finished tone-down ash brown look

Designer Jiyoon explained everything calmly and did my hair exactly right, so I'm so, so satisfied 😊 It was great being able to get a hair design that matched my style and my hair condition. Such convenient access too — I'll definitely visit this Nowon Station hair salon, Yeum Hair, again~
