Hi everyone 😚 I've always gotten told my lips look pale and kind of sickly when I'm bare-faced, so after a lot of back and forth, I finally went and got a lip tattoo near Gangnam!

I was tired of putting on lipstick every single time and just wanted natural-looking color even with a bare face.

Lamoon Brow is at 42 Seocho-daero 78-gil, 4th Fl. #412, Seocho-gu, Seoul, a 2-minute walk from Gangnam Station Exit 5. Hours are Mon–Sat 11:00–21:00, closed every Sunday.

It's in the Hyundai Girim Officetel building, so even I, who has zero sense of direction, found it right away! Parking is available in the building but it's paid, ₩1,200 per 10 minutes, so I'd recommend public transit. If you really have to drive, it's worth checking the Modu Parking app for cheaper lots nearby.

Inside Lamoon Brow: atmosphere and hygiene

The inside of Lamoon Brow is so well managed in terms of tool care and cleanliness that my hygiene worries disappeared first thing.

The moment you walk in, it's really clean! Since this is a procedure that touches your skin directly, hygiene was my biggest worry, but the tool management and overall shop cleanliness were so good that I felt completely at ease ✨

One-on-one personal color consultation before the lip tattoo

Lip tattoos at Lamoon Brow apparently aren't done by slapping on a uniform red — instead they analyze your original lip color and mix a custom pigment blend just for you. Once you sit down at the consultation table, you talk things through carefully with the director first.

Everyone's lip dullness or dark tone is different, right? Since my main concern was a dark undertone, she said they'd first brighten my lips overall so the color could come through clearly.

How much does a lip tattoo hurt? The session step by step

At Lamoon Brow, once you lie down on the bed, they apply numbing cream and have you wait about 15 minutes before sketching the design. My lips were pretty numb by then, so the pain was less than I expected.

They even put an eye mask on me so the light wouldn't bother me — I was so touched! Seeing how strictly they followed hygiene protocols, true to a lip tattoo specialist near Gangnam, any anxiety I had melted away 💖 The director's touch was so delicate, and she kept checking in throughout to make sure I wasn't in pain, so I got to lie there really comfortably!

Right after the session and the peeling process on days 2 and 6

You have to keep applying plenty of the recovery cream and lip balm the director gave me so your lips don't dry out.

After about a week, the artificial-looking red fades away completely and you're left with lips that have a natural flush even with just lip balm! I got so many compliments from people around me saying I look cleaner and prettier ><

Lip tattoo aftercare: what to avoid

There are a few things you absolutely have to follow for a successful lip tattoo result!

First, lips are a sensitive area, and if your condition drops, there's a risk of blisters coming up 😭

• Avoid intense sweat-inducing activities like the gym or saunas for a week
• Avoid spicy or stimulating food for a while
• Avoid kissing pets for a while
• Don't pick at peeling skin with your hands — moisturize with recovery cream and lip balm instead

On day 2, the color was so pretty I kept wanting to take selfies haha

From day 3, peeling progressed a lot, and up until day 10 the lip color can actually look duller than before, but apparently the pretty color comes back up if you wait just a little longer! I'm already so excited 😚

When should you get the retouch?

At Lamoon Brow, they say getting one more retouch session within 4 weeks to 2 months after the first procedure makes the color last much longer. Since my lips were on the darker side, they focused the first session on brightening rather than depth of color, so the shade wouldn't be too intense yet.

They gave me a guide sheet noting the window for the second session, so I'm planning to watch how my lips settle and go back for the second round 😚
