Pohang Western restaurant lunch on a trip: 300g hanwoo steak, Plan A
In short
Plan A Restaurant is an ocean-view Western restaurant on the 4th floor of a building facing Songdo Beach in Pohang, Gyeongbuk. After days of raw fish and Korean food on a Pohang trip, the writer ordered the 300g hanwoo (Korean beef) sirloin steak for 49,000 won and the beef tomato spaghetti for 16,000 won, sharing both while alternating whole grain mustard, wasabi and steak sauce. Plan A Restaurant stayed memorable as a Pohang date-course lunch with the sea in full view.

Plan A Restaurant is a Western restaurant on the 4th floor of a building facing Songdo Beach in Pohang. It's open 11:45 to 21:00, with last order at 20:30, and break time is 15:15-17:00 on weekdays and 15:30-17:00 on weekends. It's closed every Tuesday, and parking is free at the public lots in front of and behind the building, plus the community center lot behind it.

Since I'd come all the way to Pohang, I wanted at least one meal in a place with good atmosphere and Western food haha. So I went looking and found Plan A Restaurant right in front of Songdo Beach. Best of all, it's on the 4th floor, so the view out the window was seriously great!! You get good food and an ocean view too, so it seemed like a great date spot for anyone looking for one in Pohang.
Where is Plan A Restaurant in Songdo, Pohang, and where do you park?

Plan A Restaurant is right in front of Songdo Beach! It's on the 4th floor of the building next to the Songdo Starbucks, so once you're nearby it's easy to find — just take the elevator up. It's also a short drive from Jukdo Market, so it's a nice place to head to for a meal after browsing the market!
Parking is free at the public lots in front of and behind the building haha. You can also use the community center parking lot in the back, so even though it's right by the sea, the parking situation wasn't a burden at all.
The Songdo Beach view from the 4th-floor window seats

The first thing that caught my eye the moment I walked into Plan A Restaurant was, of course, the sea haha. I thought it would mostly be tourists, but as I ate I noticed most of the other guests seemed to be locals rather than travelers. The interior was bigger than I expected, with plenty of seating! It's clean and comfortable overall, so it's good for a casual lunch but also works well for a date where you want a bit of atmosphere.
The window seats especially let you take in the sea view while you eat, so if I were coming for a date, I'd definitely try to snag a window table haha.
Menu and prices: 300g hanwoo sirloin steak for 49,000 won
Looking at the menu at Plan A Restaurant, there was a huge range — from steaks to pastas, pilafs, and risottos! The chop steak also seemed to be a popular order, but we went with the hanwoo sirloin steak 300g for ₩49,000 and the beef tomato spaghetti for ₩16,000.

There were plenty of pasta options too — cream, rosé, oil-based — so it was easy to pick based on your taste, and with pilaf and risotto also on offer, there were quite a lot of choices. If you're like me and have been eating nothing but raw fish and Korean food on your trip and suddenly crave Western food, there's fun to be had just picking from the menu!
How did the steak and beef tomato spaghetti taste?

We started with the beef tomato spaghetti, and the pasta was delicious haha. With tomato sauce and beef, it paired really well with the steak, and switching back and forth between the two dishes was better than sticking to just one! I always make sure to order pasta whenever I go out for Western food, and this time was no exception :)

And the hanwoo sirloin steak had real presence once it hit the table at 300g! It was cooked to just the right doneness, so it looked appetizing from the first glance. It came with whole grain mustard and wasabi on the side, so it was fun mixing up the combinations bite by bite.

Out of everything, I liked it best paired with the steak sauce haha. The sauce went really well with the meat, so alternating a bite of steak with a bite of pasta worked great for sharing between the two of us!
Is Plan A Restaurant worth it for a Songdo, Pohang date lunch?

After eating nothing but seafood and Korean food throughout the Pohang trip, Plan A Restaurant was a good stop when Western food with a nice atmosphere sounded appealing haha. What stuck with me most was the sea view from the 4th floor — it's not just a place to eat and leave, but somewhere you can actually get a date-like mood going too. I hope this helps anyone looking for a nice lunch or date spot in Songdo, Pohang!
