Seongsu café for a matcha latte and three-layer cheesecake: T Coffee

There are so many cafés in Seongsu, but sometimes when you actually go there are just too many people and it's too loud to relax. This time I went to T Coffee, a calm-vibe spot located halfway between Seongsu Station and Konkuk University Station.

A basement floor just off Seongsu's main café street

T Coffee is set a little away from Seongsu's main café street, and maybe that's why it had such a relatively calm atmosphere — I loved that. Even though it's actually underground, it felt clean and cozy rather than cramped.

You go down the stairs from the building entrance to reach T Coffee's space. You can also enter through the building and take the elevator! It has a clean, minimal feel, and I especially liked that it's a bit removed from the busy center of Seongsu. If you like the concept store Khakis in the same building, this café will feel familiar.

How big is T Coffee inside?

Once inside, the space was bigger than I expected. The overall calm mood made it feel fine for having coffee alone or chatting quietly. Personally, I was satisfied with how comfortable and restful the atmosphere was.

How did the matcha latte and three-layer cheesecake taste?

What I ordered at T Coffee was the matcha latte for 7,300 won and the cheesecake for 7,500 won.

The matcha latte had a mild matcha flavor that paired well with dessert, and honestly the matcha-and-cheesecake combo rarely fails. Pairing the sweet dessert with slightly bitter matcha gave just the right balance.

I think the matcha latte comes with syrup by default — it was pretty sweet. Next time I visit, I'll check if I can order it less sweet.

The cheesecake was also really delicious. It's divided into three layers, and the flavors were distinct!

When is the best day to visit T Coffee?

If you're looking for a slightly calmer, more relaxed space in Seongsu rather than a crowded café, give T Coffee a try. It's good for a quick break while hanging out in Seongsu, and it was a nice place to visit when you want to enjoy coffee and dessert in a quiet atmosphere. Next time, I'd like to try the coffee menu and the hand-drip too.
