Seongsu café to catch up with a friend: hand-drip Ethiopia at T Coffee
In short
T Coffee is a quiet basement café in Seongsu, Seoul, a 10-minute walk from Seongsu Station Exit 4, on the B1 floor of a white building at 159 Achasan-ro. Meeting a friend who had just come back from Canada, the writer ordered a hand-drip Ethiopia and an iced americano, and green daylight came through the floor-to-ceiling window on one wall, so the basement still felt fresh. Prices at T Coffee run a little high, but it is a good place to sit and talk for a long time.

Today was the day I finally got to see a friend who's back in Korea for a short trip from Canada, after such a long time!! Since it had been so long, I figured we should loosen our tongues first (?), so the first stop was a café.
My friend really, really wanted to shop and shop and shop lol. If you keep walking straight from Seongsu Station, you hit the main strip lined with pop-up stores and shopping spots — and pretty close to there was T Coffee, the quiet Seongsu café I'd been meaning to check out?! Perfect, I thought, so we agreed to meet there.
This is my review after meeting up and catching up for ages at this quiet Seongsu café — let's get into the T Coffee review haha.
Where is T Coffee, and how long is the walk from Seongsu Station?
T Coffee is on the basement floor (B1) of the white building on the right if you walk about 10 minutes straight from Exit 4 of Seongsu Station. The address is 159 Achasan-ro, Seongdong-gu, Seoul.

Head down to the basement level and you'll find today's destination, T Coffee. This photo was taken on the way back up — the weather outside was gorgeous and the view looked like a painting, which I loved haha.

A basement café in Seongsu with one full wall of window light
The inside of T Coffee isn't that big, but one whole wall is a floor-to-ceiling window, giving it this cool, green-tinged feeling. Not easy to pull off when you're in the basement, right?!
Personally, I'm not a fan of going into basement cafés on a nice day when no light gets in, but T Coffee more than makes up for it, so I could sit in a fresh, bright mood — the wood-tone interior plus the stylish chairs and tables kept things from feeling monotonous. Good stuff!

Is T Coffee good for going solo or working on a laptop?
Further inside T Coffee, there's a table with a red accent like this. Seemed like a decent spot to quietly work on a laptop alone haha.
Overall the café wasn't that loud, and I saw a lot of people sitting alone doing their own thing?? So it seems like a nice place to come work when you've got something to get done haha.

T Coffee menu and prices

They also have a hand-drip menu, which got me even more excited about the coffee haha.

The desserts were displayed like this, so you could see them before ordering haha. We just ordered coffee though?! haha
How the hand-drip Ethiopia and the iced americano tasted
What we ordered: one cup of T Coffee's hand-drip Ethiopia and one iced americano! You can see the color difference, right?

I ordered the drip and it was clean and not too heavy, so it was nice to sip while chatting comfortably.

My friend went with the americano — reliably solid as always! A flavor you already know! lol

Final take on T Coffee, a quiet café in Seongsu
Overall, prices run a bit high, but if you're planning to sit for a long while, it seemed like a good spot!
