Family lunch with window seats at Yukganmyeongga, Hadan, Busan

In short

Yukganmyeongga is a Korean restaurant in Hadan, Saha, Busan, serving a 10-side lotus-leaf rice course. Sharing a window table on the second floor with family, the writer ordered the wood-fired pork galbi set (3 servings), plated with pork roasted in a 480-degree wood oven, lotus-leaf rice studded with chestnuts, dates and nuts, and neat side dishes. With ground-floor parking and an elevator, it suits lunch gatherings with elderly parents or kids.

It's starting to feel properly cool in the mornings and evenings these days. That kind of weather always makes me crave a hearty, healthy meal. A while back I went out to eat with my family somewhere that turned out to be perfect for exactly that — great atmosphere, great food. Let me introduce it today.

This is Yukganmyeongga (육간명가), located in Hadan, Saha-gu. If you're looking for a good lunch spot in Hadan, this one's worth a look.

What about parking and the elevator?

The building has a spacious parking lot on the ground floor, so we didn't have to worry about parking at all, and there's an elevator inside too — really convenient if you're bringing elderly parents or kids. We just rode the elevator up to the restaurant.

The vibe of the second-floor dining room

Stepping inside, the warm wood tones and stylish brick walls together create a cozy yet upscale feel. The unique ceiling lighting and hanok roof-tile decor add to it, giving the space the charm of a traditional yet clean Korean set-meal restaurant.

Once we sat down, the basic table setting was already neatly arranged. As soon as we took our seats, they brought us a warm cup of tea, which warmed us up right away.

What did we order?

Looking through the menu, they had everything from course meals to à la carte dishes to hearty set meals. We ordered the 'wood-fired pork galbi set (3 servings)' from the 10-side lotus-leaf rice course.

We sat at a window seat on the second floor, and eating with sunlight streaming in through the full window wall made the meal feel even more relaxed. I really recommend the window seats! ✨

The 10-side set spread

After a short wait, the table was set with a generous spread.

The table was practically full of appetizing dishes, wasn't it? Just looking at it made my mouth water.

First to catch my eye were the salad with its refreshing dressing, appetite-whetting, and the neat side dishes that looked homemade with real care. Each side dish wasn't just there to fill space — you could taste the effort in every one.

How the 480-degree wood-fired pork tasted

And now, one of today's stars: the wood-fired pork appears!

Pork roasted in a 480-degree wood oven
A plate of wood-fired pork topped with chili peppers

Roasted in a 480-degree wood oven, the fat had rendered right out, leaving the outside crispy and the inside juicy. Eaten together with the chili peppers on top, it had a spicy, fragrant, savory kick that kept my chopsticks moving nonstop.

Wood-fired pork wrapped in lettuce and perilla leaves

Wrapping a piece of meat in the fresh lettuce and perilla leaves that came with it, topped with a dab of ssamjang (seasoned soybean paste), was also amazing. It struck me as the perfect place for a Hadan work dinner or gathering. Add the fragrant wood-fired lotus-leaf rice on top, and the set meal was complete.

What's inside the wood-fired lotus-leaf rice

Unfolding the lotus leaf, the sticky rice underneath was generously studded with chestnuts, dates, and nuts. With every bite, the subtle scent of the lotus leaf spread through, making me feel healthier just from eating the rice. Paired with a savory broth, it was very filling.

Service and dessert

The staff were incredibly warm and kind throughout the meal. Whenever a side dish started running low, they'd come over on their own and kindly offer a refill — it made us feel truly well taken care of. 👍

After finishing a hearty meal, on the way out we noticed they even had ice cream ready for dessert! With crispy cones neatly filled with ice cream, it was the perfect sweet finish to cleanse the palate.

A good spot for a Hadan lunch gathering?

With the neat 10-side spread, delicious wood-fired pork, fragrant lotus-leaf rice, and kind service, there was nothing to complain about. If you're looking for a clean, hearty lunch or gathering spot near Hadan, give Yukganmyeongga a try.
