Room seating with a toddler for a dachi seafood set in Busan

In short

Gwanganda Jjji Gwangalli Main Branch is a dachi-style seafood restaurant on the 6th floor of Sanbada Hoetaun in Suyeong, Busan. Visiting with a sister on parental leave and her 18-month-old, the writer was seated straight into a room upon mentioning the baby, and shared a dachi han-sang set (₩55,000 per person) running from raw shrimp, flounder and spotted flounder sashimi to abalone porridge and spicy fish stew. If you're bringing a baby, jotting a note in the Naver reservation request field makes for an easy, comfortable meal here.

Today I've got a bit of a special crew to tell you about haha. I took my sister, who's on parental leave, and her toddler out to a seafood restaurant in Gwangalli! My sister took time off to raise her little one and I just thought she was so admirable — I wanted to feed her something good hahaha.

So since it's a family with a baby, I was stressing about where to take them, but this time I really think I picked well 😊 haha. It's one of the spots that always comes up when people are searching for good eats in Minrak-dong and looking for dachi restaurant candidates, and after going myself, I get why everyone keeps mentioning it.

Today's spot: "Gwanganda Jjji."

Bring a baby and you can get seated in a room

My niece is so young that I was actually nervous the moment we walked in for seating, but as soon as we mentioned we had a baby, they walked us straight into a room hahaha. Because of that we didn't get to eat sashimi while looking at the Gwangan Bridge view, ugh, but honestly it turned out great because we could eat quietly and comfortably!!

If you've got a family with a baby, I'd recommend mentioning it ahead of time! We booked through Naver Reservations, and you can just write it in the request field haha.

🍽️ The spread at Gwanganda Jjji is seriously generous

The moment we sat down, dish after dish started covering the table, and the portions were massive. I'd always pictured dachi places as being mainly about drinking, but here the food alone was more than enough to fill you up even without alcohol.

Starting with raw shrimp, then thick cuts of flounder and spotted flounder sashimi came out, with whole abalone and shrimp on top too — you could really tell how fresh it was. If you love sashimi, I think this place will really satisfy you.

Vegetable tempura, seasoned crab, and abalone porridge

The vegetable tempura had a whole shrimp packed inside — I grabbed one and it was crispy and savory — and the seasoned crab (yangnyeom gejang) was spicy-sweet, the kind of flavor where your chopsticks just keep going back for more with rice.

We wrapped things up cleanly with abalone porridge (jeonbokjuk), and this porridge was surprisingly rich — I finished every last bit of the broth too. My 18-month-old niece ate the whole bowl of abalone porridge by herself lol. My sister kept saying, "for this price, this is really well done," over and over haha.

Spicy fish stew (maeuntang) to finish the meal

My niece stayed nice and quiet next to us, so the two of us got to eat comfortably together for once, too.

We finished with spicy fish stew (maeuntang) haha.
