Where is Geumsu Dwaeji Gukbap, and where can you park?

For budget-conscious university students or solo diners, Geumsu Dwaeji Gukbap Gyeongseong-Pukyongdae Branch is like an oasis. It sits close to the main road roughly halfway between Namcheon Station and Kyungsung Univ.·Pukyong Nat'l Univ. Station, so it's an easy short walk from the subway. Unfortunately there's no dedicated parking, but if you're driving, there are paid parking lots nearby you can use.

Inside, the place is kept clean and pleasant. Looking around, I saw a real mix of customers — students grabbing lunch, office workers, and families out exploring good eats near Kyungsung University with their kids. The spotless atmosphere made it clear why so many people keep choosing this Daeyeon-dong gukbap spot over Busan's other famous gukbap restaurants.

Menu and self-serve bar: free refills of rice and somyeon noodles

Sitting down and looking over the menu, I could order everything from basic pork gukbap to sundae gukbap (blood sausage soup) and naejang gukbap (offal soup).

Clean broth and thinly sliced pork that kids can eat

When the gukbap I ordered arrived, it was bubbling and steaming, with a savory aroma hitting my nose right away.

The earthenware bowl was loaded generously with meat, and the broth was clean with no gamey smell, savory and deep in flavor.

The meat was sliced thin, which made it easy for my child to eat, and for me too it was tender and really good~

Not chewy at all and easy to bite through, which would be great for small children or elderly diners too.

Sure enough, I saw a lot of parents in the restaurant eating out near Kyungsung University with their kids. The base broth comes mild and clean, and a separate dadaegi (spicy seasoning paste) is provided so you can spice it up to your own taste — I really liked that!

My own way of eating gukbap is to enjoy the clear, savory broth first, then stir in dadaegi partway through for a spicier kick~

Dropping thin noodles into the hot broth first and slurping them up, then ladling in plenty of rice and topping it with a piece of kkakdugi or well-ripened kimchi — that's pure bliss~

Eating my way through it, I understood exactly why this place is so popular among gukbap restaurants near Kyungsung University and in Daeyeon-dong.
