What does the water-drop interior at Yunujae look like?
At this Munhyeon-dong restaurant, the interior is kept very clean and pleasant throughout. What really catches the eye is the stylish water-drop feature dripping in the center of the store. Unlike your typical kalguksu joint, the atmosphere here is sleek and cozy, making it totally fine as a date spot too.

There are also plenty of baby chairs for families visiting with kids, and group seating can be reserved, making it a great spot for gatherings or work dinners too.

What comes with the 11,000 won shabu kalguksu course?
The biggest strength of Yunujae Munhyeon Shabu Kalguksu is the simple, hearty menu that's perfectly composed with zero need to overthink. Order the signature shabu kalguksu (₩11,000) and the whole course below comes with it!

- Rich, slow-simmered broth (choice of spicy 'red' or clean 'white')
- Fresh sirloin (70g)
- Fragrant vegetables and mushrooms (plenty of minari and oyster mushrooms)
- 48-hour-aged house-made kalguksu noodles
- Self-cooked fried rice to finish

In these high-cost-of-living times, being able to enjoy this entire full course for just over ₩10,000 per person truly earns Yunujae its title as the best-value restaurant in Munhyeon-dong, don't you think? Add the crispy seafood pajeon (Korean seafood pancake, ₩16,000) on the side and it makes an excellent drinking snack too.
Eating order at Yunujae: red broth first, self-serve fried rice last
You can choose between the spicy 'red' broth and the milder 'white' broth depending on your taste — I always go for the spicy, deep-flavored red broth. The long-simmered bone broth is generously loaded with minari and oyster mushrooms, giving it a really refreshing, deep flavor.
The fresh sirloin, sliced right after you order, gets lightly cooked and dipped in sauce along with the fragrant minari and mushrooms — the meat juices and vegetable flavors burst together beautifully in your mouth.

Once you're nearly done with the meat, it's time to drop in the 48-hour-aged house-made kalguksu noodles! Boil them for exactly 5 minutes using the provided hourglass timer, and there's zero flour smell — just bouncy, chewy noodles that make you go wow.

The grand finale is the self-cooked fried rice — leave just the right amount of broth in the pot and fry it up for an incredible nutty flavor. You'll say you're full but still scrape the pot clean; it's that addictive.
