A sushi restaurant on the 8th floor of Lotte Department Store Dongnae Branch

I'd been craving proper sushi for a while, so I visited Moshi Moshi, a sushi restaurant inside Lotte Department Store's Dongnae branch. It's located in the food court on the 8th floor, making it a great place to stop before or after shopping :)

Seating and visiting with kids
Moshi Moshi Sushi has a spacious, clean dining room with a variety of seating — bar seats by the kitchen, 2-person tables, 4-person tables, and 6-person tables. There's also a partitioned private space further inside, which seems good for small group visits. With a high chair and a kids' set menu, it's also a good spot for family dining :)

Menu and order — 2-person set plus individual sushi
I came in only thinking about sushi sets, but the menu was actually quite varied, from single-person course meals to sets for two or more!

The recommended soba set and udon set both come with 6pc sushi, a noodle dish, tofu salad, and vegetable salad — a good variety at a reasonable price, which would also make a nice lunch. Since I was visiting with my kid, I additionally ordered the 2-person set along with individual sushi for my child to eat.
2-person set (16pc sushi + chashu + udon) / individual sushi (2 shrimp, 2 fried tofu)
A set that comes with 16 pieces of sushi, chashu, and a noodle dish. You can choose udon or soba for the noodle dish, and I chose udon.

Vegetable salad and tofu salad come as standard sides, and they were nice to eat before the main dishes '-'
Fresh, thick-cut sushi at this Dongnae sushi restaurant

A total of 16 pieces of sushi came out, with a variety of types including flounder, salmon, tuna, eel, shrimp, and egg. When you want to try a bit of everything, an assorted sushi platter like this is perfect :)

True to its reputation as a great sushi spot near Dongnae station, every piece was fresh, with a reasonable amount of rice and thick slices of fish that gave a satisfying chew, which I loved even more. Personally, the salmon sushi was the best. My kid wanted more too, so we ordered extra of that one!
Chashu — tender pork and crunchy bean sprouts

I felt like sushi alone wasn't enough, so I also ordered a set that came with chashu, and it was a really good call! Chashu is a pork dish made from pork belly, deeply seasoned with a soy-based sauce that was well balanced, and the meat itself had a tender texture.

Topping the tender chashu with bean sprouts and onion added a crunchy texture, which made for good chewing and paired well with the meat. A tip: try adding ginger on top too — the sharp flavor makes it even tastier!
Udon — rich broth and chewy noodles
Udon with fried tofu, fish cake, shrimp, and mushrooms! It's usually more generous than this, but I scooped some out for my kid before taking the photo...! The udon broth was clean and rich without any spiciness, so it was good for my kid to eat too. That said, the seasoning is on the stronger side, so if you prefer bland food it might taste a bit salty. As someone who likes salty food, I loved it :)

My child's sushi came without wasabi
I ordered my kid's sushi separately as individual pieces, and I forgot to ask them to leave out the wasabi — but they thoughtfully made it without wasabi anyway ♥♥♥

You get 2pc shrimp sushi for leaving a Naver receipt review, so put in a little finger work and give it a try :)
Final thoughts
With fresh sushi, chashu, and udon all packed into set menus, plus a clean dining space, it made for a satisfying family meal. If you're looking for a convenient meal while shopping — and factoring in parking too — I'd recommend Moshi Moshi Sushi, Lotte Department Store Dongnae Branch :)
