Ojukheon is also only about 10 minutes away, which makes it very easy to work into a travel route.

The modern, clean white-toned front of the building strikes a beautiful balance with the wide-open East Sea behind it. The stylish exterior is easy to spot from the road, so even first-time visitors can find it without trouble. Through the floor-to-ceiling windows, the warm indoor lighting spills out gently, which was really striking. The area around the entrance is kept tidy too, so you get a good impression the moment you walk in.

The interior of Baegya Coffee is spread across three floors, with sea-facing seats efficiently arranged on every level.

The 2nd and 3rd floors have outdoor balconies, great for catching a cool breeze and snapping photos.

One nice detail: the elevator that moves between floors has a small shelf inside for setting down a tray. With a little one like Yuha along, the flow between floors was comfortable and made for a relaxed visit.

The bean's heavy body comes through, so it's never watery and keeps a deep flavor to the last sip. Drinking a latte while gazing out at the Gangneung ocean view through the window is a form of rest in itself.

Pecan tart

The pecans are packed on so densely that just looking at it feels satisfying. The crunchy, nutty texture combines with the chewy filling inside for a deep flavor.

The texture is firm yet tender, and the more you chew, the more the natural nuttiness of the pecans comes through.

Thanks to its sweet yet substantial nuttiness, it's the kind of tart that adults and pretty much anyone would enjoy.

Cherry cream cake

This is a cake where the soft sponge layers, whipped cream, and tangy-sweet cherries strike a perfect balance. One bite gives you the fluffy cake texture followed by a clean nuttiness that fills the mouth.

It isn't overly sweet, so my wife and I happily shared it down to the last piece without getting tired of it.

The bright fruit juiciness kept what could have been a plain dessert feeling fresh and vibrant — really excellent.

It was a precious time enjoying top-notch desserts with family while looking out at the blue waves of Sageunjin Beach.
