Anyang café with fresh fig ade and pumpkin campagne toast: Notten

In short

Notten is a brunch café newly opened on the Dongpyeon-maeul café street in Anyang, Gyeonggi. Visiting with my mother, we ordered the seasonal campagne French toast, a sour-forward americano made with Momos Coffee beans, and a fig ade topped with half a fresh fig; Notten's handmade campagne uses 100% Korean wheat mixed with sweet pumpkin for a nutty, clean taste. The owner serves and clears the tables in person, and Notten felt like a café worth becoming a regular at.

I heard there was a hot new brunch spot in Dongpyeon-maeul, so my mom and I ran straight over! The specialty coffee used beans from Momos Coffee, Pastel Coffee Works, Lowkey, and Signature Roasters, so the coffee was so so good, and the brunch was delicious too — this is Notten (노튼) ♡

It's located on the Dongpyeon-maeul café street! Being able to feel a rural vibe right in the middle of the city was such an appealing point ♡

Every menu item felt simple and clean, like the focus was on the essentials, and the interior was tidy and stylish too, so I really got Notten's identity from it!

Notten's hours signage and part of the store

Monday and Tuesday are regular days off and they close at 6pm, so the hours are short! I figured it's probably because prep time takes so long that they only open for a short stretch during the day, haha.

A two-person table setup at Notten

Tables stay as they are for two people, and get pushed together for four, haha. The space didn't feel cramped at all, which was relaxing and nice ❤️

Window seat at Notten with a view outside

This spot with the great window view is especially popular — we hurried to grab it too, haha.

If you're solo or coming as a pair, you might actually prefer this bar table seating.

Notten's menu board: campagne bread and hand-drip beans

Notten's menu board listing campagne and brunch items

You have to try the campagne (campagne bread) here, haha. It wasn't over-the-top like at some bakeries, but it was tasty enough that I kept wanting more, haha. I'd never heard of the paprika sausage one and was curious to try it, but it sold out fast, ugh. Next time I want to come during brunch hours and try the Korean-wheat bread plate too! Since they bake fresh daily with Korean wheat and rye, I bet you can taste the freshness and nutty flavor right away!

For hand-drip, you actually get to choose from a variety of beans!

What we ordered at Notten: French toast, americano, fig ade

Table setting with French toast and drinks

We'd already had lunch, so we kept it simple with just French toast, an americano, and fig ade!

Americano with Momos Coffee beans (sour-forward)

Hot americano brewed with sour Momos Coffee beans

For the hot americano, I ordered the sour Momos Coffee. The moment I took a sip, I just blurted out that the coffee here is good, haha 😯😯 Rich but not bitter, full of flavor!!!

Close-up of Notten's americano cup

Usually coffee makes me crave cake or bread, but this one was so clean-tasting on its own that I didn't think about anything else, haha.

Fresh fig ade at Notten

The moment the fig ade arrived, I was so surprised by the gorgeous color!!!

Half a fresh fig sitting on top of the ice

Half a fresh fig sits right on top of the ice, and it was so so fresh! You just stir it well before drinking, but honestly it was satisfying just to look at!

Fig ade before stirring together

It wasn't overly sweet and kept that bright tanginess, so it never got tiring, and I completely fell for that gentle, pleasant sweetness, haha.

Seasonal campagne French toast (today's limited item)

Caramelized seasonal campagne French toast

This is French toast made in-house with handmade campagne using 100% Korean wheat! I ordered it the second I saw the photo of the caramelized top looking so delicious, and even with syrup drizzled on, I fell for that nutty campagne flavor and thought next time I should just order the campagne on its own, haha.

It was clean and soft, but this wasn't just plain campagne — sweet pumpkin was mixed in throughout, making it feel even more special! It was a brunch French toast with the perfect balance of crispiness, moistness, and sweetness 👍

I savored every single piece, one bite at a time~~

Is Notten worth a second visit?

They make their own bread and syrup with good ingredients and only use specialty beans recognized for their flavor, so it's a Dongpyeon-maeul brunch spot you can trust! At other brunch cafés you have to go pick things up yourself when the bell rings and put things away, but at Notten the owner brings everything over and clears it away personally, which felt like such a nice touch of service!

The owner was so sweet, the atmosphere was so pretty, and nothing was lacking between the brunch menu and the coffee — I had a feeling I'd end up a regular here 💛
